If you really can’t go to the gym for a few days, because life happens, it’s still you who decides to eat well and get proper sleep, so you are well rested when you start your training again!
Fish, salmon, tuna...are a super healthy way to get protein and omega fatty acids. The problem for me is how to cook it (I prefer the grill...but it’s winter in Illinois). .
So here’s a way to make breaded fish a little healthier using almond flour which also is a good source of fat. .
To replicate the bread-crumb effect, whisk two whole eggs together in a dish. In another dish, mix one cup of almond flour with salt and pepper and any dried herbs you like. Dip fish fillets into the beaten eggs then into the almond flour until the fish is completely coated. Roast the fillets in the oven at 400°F for 10 minutes for thin fillets, and up to 15 minutes for thicker ones.
I am thinking I might use my air fryer...anyone try making fish in their air fryer?

Today I participated in a Rotterdam Cube of Truth for the first time 🤗 it was such a different experience than the 24h Cube in Amsterdam. Much smaller of course and here in Rotterdam there are also way less tourists..that and also the fact that I live here kind of made it more personal ♡
I started out in the cube and that alone is already so impacting.. even if people walk past, you can see their eyes being drawn to the images on the laptop you're holding and you know that you're planting a seed in them 🌱🙌🏽
Then I did outreach and I had some good conversations: One that stood out to me was with a guy who is into fitness and he of course brought up protein as a reason for not trying veganism.. he already kind of knew that there are also plant sources of protein, so I told him about vegan bodybuilders and showed him @nimai_delgado and then he started taking it seriously. I also told him that I lift weights and asked him what his current goal in fitness is.. he told me that he wanted to do a cut and was planning on doing keto for that, so I suggested that he could try a vegan cut and see how he feels and he actually said he might try it instead of keto!
It was really awesome to see how much he opened up in the conversation and he admitted that seeing the footage from the meat, egg and dairy industry was horrible.
As Nimai Delgado says:
Making one fitness/bodybuilding guy go vegan is like 2 or 3 regular people 😅 (in terms of animal protein they consume)
I think more awareness should be created in the fitness area for the consequences that consuming animal protein and products in general has. The generally "above average" knowledge about nutrition that fitness-oriented people have, is imo a good start to get vegan nutrition right as a beginner and can definitely make it easier to transition 🙌🏽
I will definitely continue to participate in the cubes because you always learn something new and it is such an enriching experience! And also you get to know vegans in your city (we had super nice conversations and delicious food at @spiritrestaurants after the cube 😋) So if you're a vegan in/around Rotterdam: Join us! 🌱

We just booked our flights to Portugal this summer 😍
I'll be going there with two friends and then we'll travel through Europe for a few weeks and make our way back up to Rotterdam 🤗
I can't wait!! We've been looking forward to this for so long and now the excitement is even bigger 🌞🎉
