Are you an organized learner or a procrastinating one? 🙈😂
I am more of a procrastinator myself since I tend to do most things last minute! BUT I've been trying HARD to work on fixing it and it's been working out well for me. It just makes more sense to start doing things early on and slowly making progress so there's enough time to actually improve or fix things in the end in case I need to. Prioritize. Prioritize.
Seems like instant gratification has been one of my main weaknesses when it comes to getting any "work" done. There are innumerable articles online regarding ways to combat this but for me it's the Pomodoro technique. .
The technique goes like this: you get started to matter what, give yourself no alternatives, and you are in the zone before you know it! And when it's time for a break, you reward yourself by checking your phone, watching some short videos, or reading a few pages of your book (whatever you enjoy). Literally anything you find relaxing. But when the break ends, no matter what, you gotta get back to work. The app I use for timing my pomodoro sessions is @forest_app 🌲🤗

What are the hard and soft skills that you would like/are working on to improve? .
I've been working on being less introverted and being more decisive! I definitely need to get back into the habit of reading more textbooks rather than just novels and nonfictions unrelated to school! Apart from that, I've been trying to get better physically too by choosing what gets into my body and looking after it by working out more. I really need to get more fit for I notice I get tired quite easily -- gotta look after this heart since I've got only one of it! 😆 I feel like one of the first steps to develop oneself is to recognize one's weaknesses despite it being quite tricky to do 💪🏻
Also, hello again! Apologies for having been MIA for a minute. Many things have happened in these past few weeks! Travelling, goodbyes, new beginnings, and I'm about to start my grad school! To be frank, it's all been tiring but definitely rewarding. 🌼
On 1-10, rate your productivity thid summer so far 😂
Ngl I've been working quite a lot this summer to save up some coins but academically not so much 😭 I honestly just can't seem to study when it's summer 🤷🏻♀️ Have been getting some readings done and that's pretty much about it 😂 Probably because I finished my degree? Need a serious push to get me back on track before my grad school starts! .
A quick reminder: it's okay to be unproductive sometimes. Don't beat yourself up too much. Get over it and get back to work when you're fueled up again! 👊🏻 Just be responsible 😊

Are you allergic to anything at all? 🙈🤔
I figured my captions have been quite serious recently so I thought today's post should be a little more lighthearted. Also, it's Sunday! 😂
Anyone who knows me in real life knows for a fact that I am the biggest cat lover. Know what I've recently just found out? Yep. I, the biggest cat lover, am ALLERGIC to cats (or probably their hair, not cats themselves 😂). .
This is one of the biggest plot twists I've had in my life tbh. I would alway get red, itchy and watery eyes and itchy nose when being around cats, petting them and then touching my face and my eyes. But I never thought it was me being allergic to CATS?? I mean I've had 4 cat pets before (those symptoms were always there btw) 😂 I only realized that this was the case after my friend who knows she is allergic to cats pointed it out for me 🤣 Life sure is full of wonder, isn't it?
Are you better at STEM subjects (science, tech, engineering, math) or liberal arts subjects (humanities, social sciences, creative arts)? 💡📚
I've always been better at the latter, that, I know for sure. My brain seems to switch to a different frequency when it has to deal with STEM subjects, and it's not a good frequency 😂 I don't have anything against them, mind you, I just tend to work more efficiently with humanities and social sciences! But that's one of the things that makes the world go round right?

🌎The real reason why this percentage matters
Around 70 % of people killed in today’s conflicts are civilians, mostly women and children.
They are the casualties of the “new wars” and the targets of sexual violence as a weapon of war.
They are, often seen stereotypically as “peacemakers”.
But even, to sit down and negotiate “peace” you have to “be” a “man”.
Women suffer conflicts disproportionately.
Women are barely given a chance.
We should ask ourselves... why?
✅Why are we relying on women for the “aftermath?
✅Why are we expecting women to “rebuild” war-torn societies?
✅Why are we so concerned with how sexualized are their bodies and less about their protection of rights?
✅Why are we talking about “add and stir” formulas and not about knowing WHO THEY ARE?
The silent problem is we have normalized violence against women before, during and after a war and unless we recognize that, it won’t matter how many people sign that peaceful piece of paper putting an end to an armed conflict for the root cause of gender violence will remain INTACT.

“I have this constant urge to inspire people with my journey. I know I haven’t finished yet, I just want to use my experience to help others, it’s like I’m a different person when I tap into that energy. If there is one thing I want to leave this thing called life with- knowing I have touched the lives of others around the world 🗺 🌍 “ - T A O
In early August 2019, Kashmir, a region contested by India and Pakistan, had its decades-long special status revoked. When Kashmir was integrated in 1947, India gave it a certain degree of autonomy, going so far as to allow it its own constitution.
Since then, there have been myriad conflicts within the region, with Pakistan invading and attempting to claim the territory as well as separatist and terrorist groups demanding independence from India. Decades of violence settled into a stalemate in the area—a heavy presence of the Indian and Pakistani armies on both borders, countered by protests, unrest, and violence from the Kashmiri populace.
• This standoff has created a very harrowing balance of power as Kashmir finds itself a bed of conflict between two nuclear powers.

today I gifted my portrait of my late God-Mother, Dr. Carol-Arlene Jackson [the Associate Vice President of Global Initiatives] to the President and Organization of AASCU (American Association of State Colleges and Universities) at her annual “worker bee” meeting held in Washington DC. there my BeBe spear-headed the connection between over 400 colleges and universities world wide. she dedicated her life to International Education and made AASCU her life for more than 20 years.
on this day we honor her legacy and promise to continue her fight to learn peace (world peace) and acceptance through education and international connections.
the portrait will be on display at the AASCU Headquarters located at 1307 New York Ave NW, Washington DC 20005. 🦋
How to help your boss to delay the meetings if he's not ready for it?
Not long ago I met delegates from Serbia, and the situation was awkward when I was asked to prolong their arrival to the Russian Customs Academy (RCA). It was hard for me to remain creative, especially when I woke up at 5 p. m. If you're a student of the university which has partners abroad, you are blessed. But delayed meetings are not so rare, but what to do?
1⃣Never get foreign guests bored. Delegates are people, too. They need attention from colleagues accepting them. So, the delegates work at the university, and you can easily talk about your mutual business - studies. I suppose it will be impressive.
2⃣Delegates' work is connected with travelling around the world. Never be surprised if a delegate standing by has been to hundreds or thousand places around the world. Tell your interlocutor about your motherland, the conversation will be amazing. Maybe delegates will visit your homeland one day.
3⃣Sounds like a trifle, but delegates can be exhausted, and an ideal place for your stop can be a coffee shop. It's not a secret that travellers need coffee to remain energy.

Large oil reserves recently discovered in the impoverished South American country of Guyana could mean huge profits. But the country also faces the risk of the “resource curse,” a spiral of political corruption that has driven commodity-rich nations into crisis. How do they avoid that?
