sunday salad 🌱
took today slow + did not much at all. thankfully, I did manage to roast up some petite carrots 🥕✨
these petite rainbow carrots are from @traderjoes ! I roasted them in avocado oil + seasoned with sea salt in a 375 degree oven for about 55 minutes-flipping halfway. keeping the leftovers in the fridge for this week. so good!
|mixed greens + shredded chicken + sliced cucumber + roasted carrots + avocado + sunflower sprouts + lemon juice + olive oil + EBTB seasoning|
It’s almost canning season! So much fun stuff happening in my fridge this week! Pickling cukes, radishes, and carrots (yay carrot top pesto!) galore- I have to get them put up before next week’s TWENTY pounds of tomatoes comes in to make sauce!! Would you guys be interested in preserving recipes? Let me know! [Also, mini fridge tour in my stories!]
A couple questions I get asked about massage:
1) Is there such a thing as too much pressure, or should I take as much as I can stand?
Yes, there is such a thing as too much pressure. A therapeutic massage can at times be intense and a little painful, but, you should never be flinching from the pain or pushing yourself to the edge. In that case, it will do damage rather than be helpful with your healing!
2) Is it normal to bruise once in a while after a session?
Yes, but only if you are getting a deep tissue massage AND if the treatment consists of structural integration techniques, then yes, bruising may occur due to the intensity of this type of work.
3) Is there ever a circumstance or injury where massage could make things worse instead of better?
Yes, there are contraindications when a massage should not be performed: an acute injury, an opened wound, when you are feeling feverish, to name a few.
4) Can massage help me lose weight?
Massage obviously isn’t a substitute for healthy eating and exercise, but it can lower levels of cortisol, the stress-eating hormone. High levels of cortisol make weight gain more likely. So in effect, yes, massage can help you on your weight loss journey.
5) Is there anything I can do after my massage to help feel better?
My number one suggestion would be to take an epsom salt bath. They sooth the muscles and nerves by drawing the lactic acids (metabolic wastes) out of your body during a hot bath. Try to stay in for about 20 minutes, this can enhance the benefits of your massage.
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask and I will try to address them in another post!
⚠️🛑 Yesterday, we took our family from Texas down to the good old Jersey Shore. As we walked onto the beach, they quickly realized all the seagulls swarming down for food. I was casually explaining “those birds” and how they’ll pretty much eat anything they can find on the beach. You with me?
As we walked back we saw ⬆️THAT trash can (see photo). My brother in law’s spouse said “well they won’t eat that!” And she was 💯% right.
Animals instinctively know a food, from a chemical. These are the same birds that will eat from the trash, yet they won’t touch Cheetos. •
I don’t food shame or bash, in fact, I love some chip-aroos sometimes. Info like this is for education purposes only. An ounce of prevention. We are all on our own journey, and I definitely DO NOT always make the best food choices (can anyone say Portuguese creme brûlée, yesterday?! 😂). But opting for better options, and eating well 80%+ of the time, is always the best choice.
Here’s a few of the ingredients used in Cheetos (and many other processed foods) which are more so chemicals than they are a food:
🛑 MONOSODIUM GLUTAMATE (MSG)
🛑NATURAL AND ARTIFICIAL “FLAVORS”
🛑CANOLA OIL (maybe a lesser of evils but is likely sourced very poorly)
🛑CORN - I would bet 100% it’s GMO and heavily chemically sprayed
🛑MALTODEXTRIN (another additive)
An ounce of awareness:
If you have things like Allergies, Asthma, Autoimmune conditions, Chronic Illness, Gastrointestinal, ADD, ADHD, Autism, Anxiety, Depression, Mental Disorder, Fibromyalgia, Pain Disorders, Cancer, and more ... you’ve got to avoid these chemicals listed above to reduce or eliminate symptoms and relapses. •

Let’s talk about zinc❕
Zinc is an essential trace element that is absolutely necessary for sex hormone synthesis, boosting progesterone, and helping thyroid hormone conversion of T4 to T3. It is essential for a plethora of bodily functions, but so important for hormone health and fertility.
If you have experience leaky gut, have digestive issues, or have been on the hormonal birth control, you may be at risk for a zinc deficiency. This can look like hormonal imbalance, weakened immune system, poor libido, fatigue, digestive issues, and brain fog.
Most multivitamins 💊 contain zinc, but it can also be found in food, such as: seeds (used for seed cycling 😎), beans, nuts, eggs, and different sources of meat.

Creamy Shea bump butter 🌸🌿🌹 with Frankincense
80g Shea Butter
40g Coconut Oil
40g Almond Oil
3 drops of Frankincense EO
This one is custom made for my growing bump.
Pure coconut oil by itself works great to help deeply moisturise and help with skin elasticity to prevent stretch marks. But when you live in Scotland and your coconut oil is solid hard all year round (it did melt only once this summer!) then something creamy is needed. Also, I just adore the aroma of Frankincense lately 🍃
