Dark Apostle - The Master
The Master of the ship looked out the view port and a rare smile cracked across his gaunt hideous features. Burn flare from the Idolater escort ship reflected and flickered from his obsidian horns. The Tzeentchian daemons had told the truth, or a version of it anyway, the lies and untruths would come to light later. The Master could feel the tremors of the warp, something large was coming.
A rip of multicoloured nonlight appeared in the fabric of space, a groan and a shudder rippled across space in every direction. His ship was too close but the Idolater was closer, the daemons lies had begun to manifest, and the small escort ship was sucked towards the tear in reality. The Master was confident that the ship’s captain was taking the correct evasive action, besides the Daemons wanted the Master to live for who else was going to free them. *** The Master stepped onto the bridge and addressed his lieutenant. “This is your ship for now. I am taking a shuttle and a few of my servants; I expect the rest to be protected while I am away. If the Arkke re-enters the Aether while I am aboard then it is the will of the gods and the lies of Daemons. I will escape and catch up with you. I will take back what is mine, from your cold dead hands if necessary, but until then continue as I have done.” His lieutenant bowed his head in a mark of understanding and respect.
Turning and looking at the view screen the Master gazed at the monstrous form of the Arkke. Space had turned purple at the edges of the Arkke, like a halo; around the head of a fallen saint. The Idolater still had not impacted with the Arkke but it would happen soon, it was stuck in some form of gravity field. The Master thought back through the years and realised he had never seen a hulk of such magnitude, a tumour of technology, magik and rock. Continued in comment.
Time to get this guy painted. Before the #theprimogenitor there was the #yggdrasilllium#Blanchitsu#inq28#inquisimunda#chaos#wordbearers#darkapostle#hereticastartes#forgeworld#gamesworkshop#warhammer40k
The Haegtesse had been in his possession for seventeen months when she sought him out. She came to his quarters by her own design, which was unheard of amongst the slave cast. She gently rapped her staff on his door; he heard the terror in the beat like she was hoping he would not hear. Upon entry to his chamber she strayed from normal protocol, which almost got her killed, but he stayed his hand due to this unnatural behaviour. She looked him in the eye, her pupils so large and black he remembered she had been taken in a raid on the night side of Mordia, technically saving her life as she would have burned in the false gods throne. She spoke in gothic, a tremble in her voice, “Master please forgive this intrusion I have come because of a dream from the pantheon. May I describe it to you?” “Haegtesse go on succinctly, your presence here tires my patience. Never before has a slave disturbed my meditations and prayers.” “Master I dreamt of an expedition led by and for the Great Changer. You will collect a warband from the slaves and the dregs of your warships; you will lead this group into the depths of a vast fusion of cracked and broken ships, the Arkke. This Arkke sails the Aether at the will of the dark gods. Aboard this vessel is a great tree of malignant will and ever calming peace. At the base of this twisted unnatural tree you will have your final vision, which will reveal the prison of the daemon you are seeking. Your visions will start soon and they will lead you to your warband. You will collect them from their various hells.” The Master was about to reprimand the witch for this drivel, he already had a mighty warband, when she blurted her final statement “The daemon you call the Oracle of a Thousand Lies... the beginning of its real name is Rhz’Oass’Zhaaru.” before collapsing unconscious to his richly upholstered floor... An epic (and long) game of Grand Assault mission from the Urban Conquest book for game 7 of the Aerius Campaign. The Black Templar force needed to keep hold of at least one objective and managed to keep 3, securing them victory!
My terminator Chaplain did some work by lunging forward and keeping the hordes of poxwalkers occupied for the first 2 turns. The Invictor tactical warsuit on the far flank slowing things down over there.
Some lucking rolling kept enough models alive to see me through to the end of the match.

Since folks liked my mini tutorial on sculpting joints, I thought y'all might enjoy this. If you ever hesitated at magnetizing your minis, fear no more! Magnetizing is tedious but easy and is quite useful. As far as magnets, I usually pick N52 neodymium magnets (the higher the number, the stronger the magnet). Size wise, I use 1/8 by 1/16 disc magnets for arms. You can order a bundle of sizes to experiment and see what strength you want. -

A few of you out there has asked me about how I do my blood on my miniatures. So without further ado, here's my blood mix that I use.
You will need the following three paints:
- Vallejo Black primer (Gloss version)
- Citadels Blood for The Bloodgod
- Citadels Reikland Flesshade (Gloss version)
The gloss versions are important to the mix, as otherwise it will dry matt and semi meh.
Make a 1:1:1 mix of the above paints. They will become slightly gloopy and a thick mixture, but will try in a very dark red with a glossy sheen.
I use it for all my blood and bloodsplatter. For the splatter, thin it down with water and flick it on with a brush / toothbrush and build up the blood layers so you get an inconsistent blood effect with both red shades and almost black.
For extra effect you can finish off with a gloss varnish on some of the bits, just for the extra kick.
Enjoy! (Picture for reference)
