Praying for the people of Brussels who lost their lives or their loved ones. It is always heart wrenching to know people being killed anywhere in the world, but when it is done in the name of your religion, you should, you must speak out and be apologetic. I know many people ask why should we be apologetic when we have nothing to do with these mercenaries. Well, it is not about feeling guilty, it is to tell the people across the world how most of us also feel their pain in the pit of our stomach. .
And I know it is but a small gesture, but we are there with you standing up against these terrorists. .
I have this thing for Belgium because my favourite detective, Hercule Poirot was a proud Belgian. .
He was hardly more than five feet four inches but carried himself with great dignity. His head was exactly the shape of an egg, and he always perched it a little on one side. His moustache was very stiff and military. Even if everything on his face was covered, the tips of moustache and the pink-tipped nose would be visible. - Murder on the Orient Express #heculepoirot#agathachristie
Calling all #queensofmystery. This month we will be reading Lord Edgware Dies- another Poirot novel! This is the 8th book in the series but can definitely be read as standalones. They seem to keep getting better! Let me or @readwithjamie know if you are interested in joining us. We will be discussing on Aug 31.
Synopsis from Goodreads below.
Poirot had been present when Jane bragged of her plan to 'get rid of' her estranged husband. Now the monstrous man was dead. And yet the great Belgian detective couldn't help feeling that he was being taken for a ride. After all, how could Jane have stabbed Lord Edgware to death in his library at exactly the same time she was seen dining with friends? And what could be her motive now that the aristocrat had finally granted her a divorce?
