The majority of us want strong & healthy 💇🏻♀️ hair.
On average your hair grows ½ inch - 1.25cm per month.
How fast it grows depends on factors like age, health, genetics & diet.
Although we can’t change factors like age & genetics, our ✔︎ diet is one thing we have control over.
In fact, a diet lacking the right nutrients will lead to hair loss.
Here are some awesome foods you can incorporate into our diet to speed up hair growth. 🥬 SPINACH.
Spinach is loaded with folate, iron, & vitamins A and C, which may promote hair growth. 🍓BERRIES.
Berries are loaded with compounds like antioxidants & vitamins that may promote hair growth. For example, strawberries are rich in vitamin C, which aids collagen production & iron absorption, two factors that may promote hair growth. 🍳 EGGS.
Eggs are a great source of protein & biotin, which are important for hair health and growth. A deficiency in either of these nutrients has been linked to hair loss. 🥑 AVOCADOS.
Avocados are rich in vitamin E, an antioxidant that may promote hair growth. Additionally, they are a great source of essential fatty acids, which appear to be crucial for hair growth. 🌶 SWEET PEPPERS.
Sweet peppers are a rich source of vitamins A and C, two nutrients that help ensure hair stays healthy & that may aid hair growth. 🍠 SWEET POTATOES.
Sweet potatoes are loaded with vitamin A, which helps aid sebum production. Additionally, it has other factors that may help speed up the rate of hair growth. 🍣 FATTY FISH.
Fatty fish like salmon, herring & mackerel are great sources of omega-3 fatty acids, which have been linked to improved hair growth and density. 🌰 NUTS & SEEDS.
Nuts and seeds are packed with nutrients like vitamin E, B vitamins, zinc & essential fatty acids, all of which may promote hair growth & are linked to many other health benefits. 🦐 OYSTERS.
Oysters are one of the best sources of zinc in the diet. This mineral helps support the hair growth and repair cycle. .

Thank you for your patience peeps, this week has literally flown by. Not too sure how it’s already Saturday, but I guess it’s a good thing - so the old saying goes, time flies when you’re having fun (and working 🤪). I’ve lived of leftover pieces of this chocolate chickpea tart, which has kept so well in the fridge. I like mine with yoghurt and a side of berries, but you do you. It’s rich and chocolatey, and definitely not too sweet, so if you’ve got a super sweet tooth, you may want to adjust the sweetener quantities slightly! ✨
So without further delay, deets are as follows:
For the base:
350g your fav granola (*I used @wholey.moly cookie crumbles - see below!)
60g coconut oil
2 tbsp maple syrup/honey (adjust depending on how sweet your granola is)
For the topping:
1 tin of chickpeas, rinsed + drained
60g coconut oil, melted
50g cacao powder
100g maple syrup (or honey if you prefer)
1 tsp vanilla extract
A pinch of salt
Method: start by making the base - blend all the ingredients together in a mixer, then press down firmly into a large tin lightly greased with coconut oil using a spatula. place in the freezer. now make the topping - blend all the ingredients until smooth, then spread over the base. drizzle over your favourite nut butter (I used @pipandnut crunchy PB) and then freeze again to set. keep in the fridge until ready to serve and then slice into squares. *My housemate works part-time for @wholey.moly, and so in the spirit of never wasting food, we collect the leftover cookie crumbles are her sampling sessions and keep them to enjoy as granola. I thought, why not try turning them into the tart base? It worked a treat! Any regular oat-based granola should work though 😊

Sometimes better is uncomfortable. Isn't that funny, get to a place that's better, yet it feels uncomfortable? We can get comfortable in the facade, so much that when healing or victory finally comes in an area it can make us feel like we are in a forgien place. To get to better and to accept it takes bravery! It was an honor for @darrengfranklin and I to sit with @robbumana for epsiode #11 of the Bridge series as he shared, "I felt everyday was a brave milestone, each day I had to look at fear in the face and push through... Each step towards recovery took every ounce of courage I had. From accepting something is wrong with me, to going to therapy, to the moment I got diagnosed and placed on medication. It all involved a special kind of strength that I never knew I had. Many people who deal with mental illness have this same courage and strength as they tackle more than meets the eye." .

Breakfast of champions, I added a cup of frozen fruit today to mix it up a little. And let the Nutri Ninja do the mixing. By adding the frozen fruit it is more of a shake consistency so it wouldn’t be truly Whole30, but it is still #paleo and full of #paleoprotein and super good. After getting all hot and sweaty at the gym it’s a great way to cool off and get in 24g of protein!
Starting my day out right!
