Something you might not know about me:
Growing up, as a triplet, I was the first to be born, six days prior to be exact. At twenty-five weeks gestation, I weighed barely two pounds. I could fit in the palm of my father’s hand. Being born this early left me with a mild bleed in my right arm, weakening it, eventually to be considered a mild form of Cerebral Palsy, although less invasive than my sister who would later be diagnosed.
My brother was diagnosed with Autism at two-years-old. As a group, the three of us defined and in someway defied, the meaning of normal and the expectations our culture has on American families. The term ‘nuclear’ didn’t fit, and as a result, adaptation became vital—if not, one of my family’s mottos.
Although, unique, each of us inspired our mother to look outside the box, and search for alternative solutions that were not necessarily “on the map ” after being told multiple times that there was not much she could do for her children, and doors were closed. But her natural optimism did not let her take no for an answer.
With determination, she soon began on a quest to find a solution. To this day, this is one of the reasons alternative health is my passion.
What I learned from all of that .... whatever life throws at you, you can do anything
You’re a doer. ⠀
Even in a pandemic, You’re seeing the potential for growth. ⠀
You’re seeing the gift of time being granted to you when you’ve spent years wishing you had more of it. ⠀
Now more than EVER feels like the right time. ⠀

What is health?
Health is when every cell in our body functions optimally + has resources to move, think, focus, produce energy, digest food, have no pain, regulate blood pressure and hormones, to send signals and make sure that next generation of cells as capable of the same work capacity.
How do you know if you are healthy?
Besides feeling good, you should check your hormonal levels by getting your blood work done. Maybe not right now, but when we are back to our normal lives.
It’s been an eye opening to learn nutrition from a hormonal point of view. In a end, if your nutrition is not supporting your hormonal balance, you are not eating healthy. Period.
Ru and I been very fortunate to work and learn from endocrinologist how hormones affect our health, we have been playing with nutrition, pushing it a lil’ cause I don’t want to be perfect (I love red wine, pizza, fruit and sweets 🤣) and taking our blood tests, monitoring our health and sharing all the discoveries with you.

Kitchari is the traditional cleansing food of Ayurveda. The word kitchari means “mixture”, as the recipe is super simple: a combination of split yellow mung beans and white basmati rice. The simplicity of kitchari makes it the PERFECT detoxing food, because it is very easy on the digestive system.

Ok in other news, this vid is all about changing your setup to increase ⬆️ or decrease ⬇️ challenge.
The intent is the same.. build bulletproof hip flexors.. but the shapes feel wayyyy different .
For the most part, I don’t want a huge lift (I want to work as close to or very, very close to the end of my full range of motion) so I’m changing shapes/adding weight/etc so that I can do that .
These are just a few of the many ways you can accomplish that : add blocks, add weight, add control, and change the full setup of the shape .

This practice creates space along the side body. We will focus on freeing up the tissue around the outer hips and low back up into the ribs and shoulders. We will weave in spinal rotation and side bends to facilitate this process of hydrating and mobilizing our tissues. As we move and breath to release stress and tension from the body, we are creating new space and capacity which becomes a support system in our lives. I find that this feels really good. Felt stiff and slow today so I focused on mobility and movement. 7 exercises, 10-12 reps each, and 2-3 rounds.
1) CAT COW - always keep arms straight, don't overextend spine.
2) ARCHER SQUAT - movement comes from the hips, not the spine.
3) OVERHEAD DEPTH SQUAT - rock back and forth at the bottom to open hips.
4) SPIDERMAN LUNGE W/ REACH - eyes follow hands, rotate both arms outward.
5) JEFFERSON CURL - important to go very slow and controlled.
6) WALK OUTS - keep legs as straight as possible to stretch hammies.
7) ACTIVE HANG - pull shoulder blades down and together, keep core tight.
This isolation period has brought a new opportunity for creativity if you shift your focus from seeing the limitations to the possibilities.
Yesterday my sister and I got creative with the limitations of the quarantine by taking photos in our neighborhood (which we really have never done before). We went to the tennis courts around the corner from our house and goofed around all afternoon taking photos and having fun.
My point in sharing this is that you can so easily become consumed by the illusion of limitation in this time. You can feel restricted because your life is different and it appears you have less options. OR you can shift your perspective to the opportunity that can come from this time. You can free yourself from this restrictive illusion and get creative with how you can spend your time. Rise a live the limitations of this situation and see your potential. Play with your creativity. Experience freedom with in your soul.
5 ways to get rid of anxiety RIGHT NOW:
✨ Unclench your teeth. Create a small space between the back of your teeth and slide the tongue off the roof of your mouth.
✨ Take one hand to your chest and the other to the belly. Apply as much pressure as it feels nourishing for you to do - your nervous system will respond to this pressure and begin to slow and calm down. Take 10 deep breaths here with hands to your body.
✨ Write, type or record your voice explaining everything that’s causing you to feel the way you’re feeling. If you’re not sure start with WHAT you feel. What’s real for you right now? And just keep going with those thoughts until there are no more to explore. Still unsure? What are you afraid of right now?
✨ Meditate ~ I have two meditations on my YouTube channel (more coming, I promise!) or hop over to @world.onpause and find their next 30 min class. I’ll be teaching there on Tuesday morning 9:00-9:30am Mindful Movement.
✨ Call a friend or a loved one and ask them to just listen as you explain how you’re feeling. They don’t have to fix it, just be a safe space for you to share how you’re feeling. Purchasing inexpensive items such as lipstick allowed for an uplifting treat, without having a noticeable effect on a person’s available funds. 💛 My go-to protein smoothie recipe of the week! 💚 I feel like I've made this almost every day this week and as promised in my stories I've posted the recipe and nutritional info here for you guys!
It has taken me a while to get on the protein smoothie bandwagon because I'm a little picky with the taste of protein powders - don't like them too sweet or grainy. So now that I have recently found a protein powder that I love (@optimumnutrition Gold Standard in Vanilla Ice Cream) and I have a superb blender (this is everything guys!) - I'm addicted! I'm now officially onto my 3rd big tub of protein powder so yasss more smoothie recipes to come!
Green tropicana protein smoothie
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 cup frozen mango
- 1/2 cup frozen pineapple
- 2 cups (packed) spinach (3 big handfuls)
- 1 scoop protein powder
Blend all ingredients together and voila! I've recently bought a @ninjakitchen blender/processor system and I have no idea why I didn't discover this earlier in my life! 😍 Love!
Tip - Freezing the banana gives the smoothie a thick consistency, add another frozen banana and you'll have a green nicecream!
I’ve topped my smoothie bowl with raspberries, blackberries and pumpkin seeds because it looks GORGEOUS and tastes AMAZING! However, in the mornings when I’m in a rush I just blitz all the ingredients listed above together in my bullet blender, pop a cap on and off I go! Or rather, off I go to the living room in my quarantine isolation to prepare for a morning home based workout 😅😅 I mean a photo of my takeaway bullet just ain’t as pretty as this bowl 🙊😅. Switching up our daily routine with garlic shots. 🧄
Garlic has been traced back to 3000 B.C. among the Egyptians who besides for medicinal purposes used it as offerings to the gods and painted it in their tombs. Among many other benefits garlic contains anti-fungal, anti-viral and anti-cancer properties and is just a great overall immune booster. 😇
Recipe is same as ginger shot just replace ginger with garlic. 🧄
For 2 shots I use 2 raw garlic cloves, put it into a blender with fresh squeezed (blood) orange or pineapple juice for 2 shot glasses full.
I also add 1 teaspoon olive oil which cuts the spice/sharpness a little bit and makes it smooth when blended. 😋
This meal had me JAMMIN’ with some SALMON with no CARROT all! 😅🐟🎶💃🏻.
I’m craving this goodness something fierce tonight, so it’s coming in hot for a #throwbackrecipesaturday ‼️💥 Packed full of vitamin C (yay!) and a whooooole lot of tastiness! 🤩🙌🏻💥 .

Deets 👇🏻 .
1️⃣ In a large skillet, melt 1 tbsp ghee on medium heat. Meanwhile, lightly season salmon with salt&pepper on both sides. I used King Salmon from @sizzlefishfit 🐟
2️⃣ Add salmon skin side down and cook for about 4 min. Flip and cook another 4 min. Remove salmon from skillet and set aside. .
3️⃣ Add 1 tbsp of ghee and 1/2 diced yellow onion. Cook for a few min, and then add minced garlic. Cook for about 5 min. .
4️⃣ Add in about 1/2 tbsp of grapefruit zest and the juice of one grapefruit. Bring pan to a simmer while continually stirring. Once it’s simmering, add 1 can of full fat coconut milk (just use the thick cream, not the water). Stir and let sauce thicken. I added some cajun, basil, and paprika. .
5️⃣ Spiralize 3 carrots and add to pan. Sauté until tender. Transfer salmon back to pan and nestle some grapefruit slices into coodles.
6️⃣ Transfer to plate and cook broccolini in same pan. Serve all together and enjoy! 😋

Hot X Buns inspired pancakes 🥞🐇🐣

I wasn't going to let another week go without a new pancake recipe 😜.
Enjoy this Easter inspired breakfast with the fam this coming weekend 💙 This serve of pancakes have 357 calories and 32.5g of protein. They taste just like hot X buns and they are so filling too 👌🏽
This is what you need:
🥞 100g of @pureggandlifeplus egg whites
🥞 100g of cottage cheese
🥞 30g of rolled oats
🥞 1/2 tsp of baking soda
🥞 Stevia or sweetener of choice, to your liking
🥞 1/2 tsp of spice mix
🥞 20g of Sultanas
🥞 40g of Greek yoghurt (I used Yopro)
🥞 5g of @devondaledairy reduced fat butter
1. Blend all ingredients, except for the sultanas, butter and greek yoghurt. Pour pancake mix into a pre heated pan (as big or small you want them to be!) and add a couple of sultanas to each pancake. After a minute, flip pancakes carefully and cook for an additional minute on the other side.
2. To create the X, simply combine the Greek yoghurt with stevia and spoon it into a piping bag or small zip lock bag (like i did) then snip corner. Pipe crosses onto each pancake.
3. Serve with butter and enjoy!
You can also add sugar free maple syrup to make them extra delicious 🤤

✨ the SOCIAL-how we want our interaction to be, what value do they have to respect, how we want to be Remebered by others
✨the SKILL-work on your point of interest, that means work with a PLAN and schedule and goals towards really learning a new skill
✨the SERVICE-what you want to bring out to the world, how and with what quality
These are the four areas about gaining a real CLARITY. If we work on them with consistency and meaning it will become an asset, a skill and ultimately a habit!

Queste sono le quattro aree in cui dovremmo ricercare e implementare la nostra CHIAREZZA. Se lavoriamo su di loro con costanza e volonta', diventerà una risorsa, un'abilità e, in definitiva, un'abitudine!
