Exercising is always a little tricky with type 1 diabetes! The InPen App by Companion Medical has made my life a lot easier by seeing when I last took my insulin and how much insulin remains on board. I can also double check that I took my long-acting insulin that morning! I love looking at the app before going on a bike ride to make sure I have either a small amount of insulin on board or no insulin on board! Chicken, bacon, mushroom & leek pie 🥧🙌🏼 Is it just me or has this week felt never ending?! 🤷🏼♀️ Couldnt wait for 5pm to roll around so I could start cooking this 😍
- 𝕀𝕟𝕘𝕣𝕖𝕕𝕚𝕖𝕟𝕥𝕤 -
2x chicken breasts chopped, 4x bacon slices, 2x medium leeks, 100g mushrooms, 2 cloves garlic, 25g plain flour, 1/2 tsp mustard powder, 30g Philadelphia light garlic & herb, 1 vegetable stock cube, dissolved in 100ml water, 200ml semi-skimmed milk, 4 filo pastry sheets
- ℝ𝕖𝕔𝕚𝕡𝕖 -
1. Chop bacon & lightly fry for 5 mins until golden.
2. Chop chicken into bite sized chunks and fry for a few mins until browned.
3. Slice leeks & mushroom then gently fry with the meat for 5 mins
4. Add the mustard powder, Philadelphia Light & flour to the pan & stir.
5. Gradually add milk/stock mix & stir it all together.
6. Season with salt,pepper & herbs
7. Transfer to a ovenproof dish & top with pastry.
8. Cook on 190 for 20 mins until top is golden brown.

✔️ 220g de manteiga sem sal em temperatura ambiente
✔️ 140g de açúcar mascavo
✔️ 120g açúcar cristal
✔️ 2 ovos grandes
✔️ 1 1/2 colher (chá) de extrato de baunilha
✔️ 300g de farinha de trigo
✔️ 1 1/2 colher (chá) de bicarbonato de sódio
✔️ 1/2 colher (chá) de sal
✔️ 270g de chocolate em gotas ou em pedacinhos
✔️ Nutella (opcional)
MODO DE PREPARO:
- Na batedeira, bata a manteiga até ficar bem cremosa;
- Acrescente os açúcares e bata até ficar fofo (bate bastante mesmo);
- Continue batendo e acrescente os ovos 1 a 1 até ficar homogêneo;
- Adicione a baunilha;
- Em outra tigela, misture a farinha, o sal e o bicarbonato;
- Incorpore estes ingredientes secos na batedeira que está a manteiga, os açúcares, os ovos e a baunilha e bata levemente;
- Desligue a batedeira e coloque as gotas ou pedacinhos de chocolate, misturando bem com uma colher;
- Leve a geladeira para descansar por 12 a 24h;
- 1 hora antes de assar o cookies, se você escolheu adicionar Nutella no recheio, leve um pouco de Nutella em um recipiente ao freezer por 40 minutos;
- Pré aqueça o forno a 180 graus;
- Forre com papel manteiga duas formas grandes de preferência grossas e com bordas curtinhas;
- Retire a massa da geladeira e a Nutella do freezer, e com uma colher de sorvete faça bolinhas e organize nas assadeiras, deixando um espaço para que o cookies cresça;
- * Para o cookies com Nutella, abra o cookies como uma concha e coloque a Nutella dentro e enrole em formato de bola depois;
- Asse em torno de 12 a 15 min ou até que as bordas estejam douradas;
- Retire do forno (os cookies ainda estarão moles) e coloque em uma grade para resfriar por cerca de 10 min;

Antioxidants boost men’s health and may prevent urinary tract infections
Antioxidants may play a significant role in promoting good health and preventing illness. Online personal trainer Andrew Cate looks at some of the benefits for men’s health.
As the name states, antioxidants are compounds that prevent oxygen damage (oxidation), and fight the action of free radicals. Free radicals are unstable molecules missing an electron, and they damage other molecules by seeking out a full complement of electrons.
By taking electrons from other molecules they can damage cells. The damage they cause can accumulate, partly contributing to the ageing process and the development of some degenerative diseases.
Free radicals are formed within our bodies as a natural by-product of metabolism, and also from external sources such as ultraviolet radiation, pollution and cigarette smoke.
Antioxidants such as vitamin C, vitamin E and betacarotene may play a preventative role in ageing and the development of disease by neutralising free radicals.
To help better understand the action of free radicals and antioxidants, think about how a sliced apple turns brown. The inner flesh is exposed to air, allowing oxygen to create cell damage. But if you drizzle some fresh lemon juice over the sliced apple, the browning does not occur. The vitamin C (a potent antioxidant) in the lemon inhibits oxidation and helps prevent cellular damage.
How do antioxidants boost men’s health?
According to a recent study published in the Journal of Nutrition, antioxidants may significantly reduce the risk of developing lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) in men.
The study found that men with the highest average intake of the antioxidants lycopene, betacarotene or vitamin A had a 40 to 50 percent reduction in the chance of developing LUTS compared with men with the lowest average intakes.

👉One of the biggest problems we've created is generating 𝙛𝙖𝙡𝙨𝙚 fear around the Coronavirus. 𝙁𝙖𝙡𝙨𝙚 fear leads to anxiety, worry, and panic. Your body operates completely differently when it's under 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗲 fear compared to false fear.
🔷𝗧𝗿𝘂𝗲 fear heightens your body's ability to stave off danger. 𝙁𝙖𝙡𝙨𝙚 fear hinders your body's immune system.
🔷Getting riled up about how someone else is handling themselves during this pandemic is 𝙉𝙊𝙏 𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙚 fear. It's worry.
🔷Not leaving your house under any circumstances for any reason is 𝙉𝙊𝙏 𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙚 fear. It's panic.

It's our opinion that the #1 thing you can do right now is to get over your 𝙛𝙖𝙡𝙨𝙚 fear and dig deeper to identify why you feel that way.
