Amenhotep II, #pharaoh of the eighteenth Egyptian dynasty, presumably reigned from 1425 to 1401 BC. Its stele is in quartz, a hard stone difficult to work, essentially destined to important works created by highly skilled artisans for royal buyers. It only preserves the upper part but - based on similar findings - it is assumed that it reached at least 80 cm of height.
It represents Amenhotep II (on the right), distinguished by the khepresh #crown, offering two globular vessels to the god Amon-Ra (on the left), distinguished by the headdress with two tall feathers. The #khepresh crown is actually blue in polychrome representations, but here there are no color traces; however, the shape of the headgear and the dating tell us that it is certainly that kind of crown.
