Physical exercise is not just good for your physical health and physique, it’s also very impactful on your mental well-being.
Having a consistent exercise routine can positively affect your mood, self-esteem, patience level, motivation, mental energy, and stress relief (just to name a few!)
So much easier said than done, right?
Right. But it doesn’t mean impossible.
Exercising is a HABIT, so if you’re struggling with establishing a consistent exercise routine, it’s probably because you haven’t incorporated exercising into your routine yet.
Healthy habits usually don’t just happen overnight, so for a little push, here are some helpful tips to get started:
✔️ Find something that you ENJOY. Don’t choose jogging if you hate running! You’re way more likely to maintain a routine if you don’t dread it.
✔️ Find opportunities to exercise in every-day tasks. You can exercise literally anywhere, while doing anything! Wash your dishes in a squat position, park your car far from the office.
✔️ Hold yourself accountable to somebody. Sign up for exercise classes, plan a hike with a friend.
✔️ Vary your exercises. Doing the same thing every day can eventually get boring, even if you initially enjoyed it. Try to find several different exercises to keep things interesting.
✔️ Schedule it into your week. Don’t just trust yourself to FEEL like exercising. Select a goal for how many days you want to exercise, and make it happen!
To give you guys a better idea of what those tips look like in action, here’s MY current established exercise routine:
🥇 I have a goal to exercise at least 4 times per week.
My weekly exercise routine generally consists of:
🧘🏻♀️ 2 Pilates classes
🚴🏻♀️ 1 cardio class
🏃🏻♀️ 1 6 mile outdoor run
