Over the past 2 months, I’ve played in over 35 different cities in four different countries, and have opened for four different bands! My head is spinning with gratitude. It’s certainly been a wild ride filled with so much love. I wish I could count how many amazing people I’ve met along the way. How many hugs I’ve gotten after every show! 💜💜💜 But the adventure is far from over - 13 more cities in December! See you on the road. 😆
@mallorymturner made this lil re-cap video of my tour opening up for Donna The Buffalo on the west coast! 💜 Hope you enjoy! .

#100daysofpractice Day 34.
Feeling really under the weather today. The combination of seasonally inappropriate outdoor gigs and living with an elementary school teacher is a real doozy for the immune system.
Spent my practice time today working up some old stand-by tunes I haven’t touched in a while. It’s nice feeling like I’m starting to build a halfway decent tune library to pull from.
Also noticing my picking gets really inconsistent as soon as I feel the pressure of a record button. Need to work on being camera shy.
#100daysofpractice Day 32.
Today was a rough one. Left the house at 7 for my first rehearsal and gig of the day, then raced over to another gig, got home a little past 5. Played outside in 30-something degree weather, got snowed on and rain soaked, chilled to the bone. Last thing I wanted to do upon getting home was practice.
But every day means EVERY day! No excuses! Started learning another Irish tune. Surprise.
Now to take a hot shower and ingest something that isn’t coffee.

Another day, another tune. Didn’t have a whole lot of time to practice today (what else is new) but enough time to look over about 16 measure of music! I love how much variation can be found in so many tunes in the same key, meter and form. Makes a lot of it feel familiar and alien all at once. Still trying to get my reading to feel less stiff, but that will come with time. (Hopefully.) #practice#proofofpractice#mandolin#mando#harrysloch#irish#folk#folktunes
Well I missed National Coming Out Day, but I gotta say, each and every single one of you who shared a story (or really anyone who has a story at all, regardless of whether you shared it) are BADASSES and SO AM I. 🥳💥💃🏽
Thank you to @almalmedia for this photo from the Forgotten Fort installation I worked on this spring. Me and #matildathebanjo will be at @avlbeautyacademy tonight 8-10pm singing some tunes with the incomparable @threadbaresongs, so come on out! That’s where my queer ass will be ✌🏼

Realizing I should have just done 100 Days of Folk Tunes. Between trying to tackle Väsen tunes and my unlearned books of 200+ Irish tunes I’ve got plenty to work through.
I’ve noticed an improvement in how quickly I can pick up new tunes. Not quite at the point of sight reading up to session speed, but on my way! Reading has always been one of my weakest skills so it’s rewarding to feel the work starting to pay off.

#100daysofpractice Day 29.
Getting into the habit of forgetting to film my main practice during the day. So here’s a little evening wind-down practice. Just going over a Väsen tune I learned in March that used to give me tons of trouble. It’s a bit sloppy and my tremolo still feels forced, but it’s nice to be able to sit and read through something months later that I used to have difficulty even getting through. Progress!

It’s cosy, it’s live and it’s FREE!! It’ll be my last VIC show til I launch the new album in November. Come on down to the Drunken Poet this Sunday!!
