O animador da Pixar, Bobby Rubio, que escreveu, dirigiu e produziu o filme com base em seu próprio relacionamento com o filho (no TEA). . . A história em si não fala sobre autismo e, sem dúvida, pode se aplicar a qualquer pai ou pessoa que tenha um membro da família que seja “considerado diferente”. . . Em Float , o pai percebe que seu filho bebê flutua. Não é perigoso, necessariamente, mas é muito perceptível, e outros pais de crianças que não flutuam acham estranho e errado. Então, o pai tenta impedir o filho de flutuar. Ele o mantém dentro de casa, enquanto cresce. Quando eles saem, ele tem seu filho na coleira e com sua mochila cheia de pedras. . . Um dia, seu filho foge e flutua pelo playground. A criança está feliz, mas os outros pais no parquinho não. O pai arrasta o filho que grita para longe e, em um momento de frustração, exclama - no único momento de diálogo do curta - "Por que você não pode simplesmente ser normal ?!" . . Quando o pai percebe o quanto essa exclamação machuca o filho, ele se envergonha. Em vez de segurar o filho para proteger dos pais de crianças que não flutuam, ele deixa o filho flutuar livremente. . . O curta termina com uma dedicação de Rubio, que diz: “Para Alex. What is relaxing? I’m very much working on “letting go” this is my season for letting go of what no longer serves me. I’m taking more time for recovery (massage, hot yoga and incorporating the float tank 😍) I was a little nervous because it was brand new and I heard some people say you can feel “closed in”. Working 🤸🏼‍♀️ in! After my handstand training last year I became devoted to working into a handstand BUT I let go of incorporating them smoothly into my yoga practice! . I’ve talked to many who either a) practice handstands separately from their yoga practice or b) only practice handstands during a yoga practice. I was in camp A 🤸🏼‍♀️ and the latter often doesn’t leave you enough time to gain noticeable results. Also, I only jumped off my good leg and really just focused on a straight line (shame shame on me!) . Now I’m over here making all the efforts to not only work BOTH sides but also lots of entrances, how to recover from wobbles, AND incorporating them into my flows as much as possible (Surya As and Bs anyone?!)! Handstand Press “How To” tips and drills! *Save this post In this video I am doing a drill called the Press walk. It’s a way to enter into handstand with control and not momentum. It will build massive strength in your back, shoulders and core. This is what got me off the wall to handstand with confidence. Place hands 5 inches in front of your feet. Trust me on this one the closer the better. It’s all about weight transfer. Notice how far I shift forward. I am transferring weight into my fingertips leaning forward until my shoulders are above my wrists or even further forward. Hollow your front body - similar to plank pose or crow pose. Round your back, engage your pecks. Draw your navel to your spine, lengthen and engage your arms by pushing your hands firmly into your mat. Lift from your low belly, and push push push the mat away with your hands. Even if you start out jumping or baby hopping your feet to your hands keep at it. It doesn’t have to be smooth right away. Lean forward, more weight in the hands, less in the toes. This is honestly all about technique. You are strong enough! You have all of the strength needed I guarantee it.
