Pomingham Palace, the big reunion with TLS and the event that essentially turned me into a meme! On 3rd February 2018, we practically had our last event at the Royal National Hotel because we’d actually outgrown them at that stage!
It was the day of old and new friends, a certain topless Glaive, retaining the pub quiz champions title, bequeathing spoons to the worthy and too many drunken shenanigans... In attendance were Jon Campling, Adam Croasdell, Liam Mulvey and Will Bowden (Pelna from Final Fantasy XV: Kingsglaive, a new guest!). The shenanigans that occurred as a result were too hilarious and unpredictable.
This time, it felt like I was home. Third time lucky, right? Ha, tell that to drunk Ami who had the balls to infamously lead a FREAKING kinga of a few hundred people around the hotel! Ladies and gentlemen, getting the door open to break free and get the conga going was like an episode of Crystal Maze... 🤦♀️ This event in particular proved that it’s not the fun or the guests that make it memorable: it’s the PEOPLE. I found my second family that weekend and I’ve kept on returning. I will return as long as I’m able to. KupoCon is not just a fan gathering, it’s a celebration of a series that brings people together no matter our races, religions, beliefs, etc.
If you thought this was emotional, bring your tissues for tomorrow’s rendition of Pomtropolis. It’s going to be one to remember!
