A small haul is better than no haul! There were a few new releases I wanted to pick up, but figured I’d wait since most likely they would go on sale either Black Friday or prior. Hope you all had some awesome finds so far this week! 💜🎬
This... this is upsetting. I wish it was a rumor, but Dacre Montgomery confirmed it himself. Sure, it didn’t exactly take in the numbers it wanted to nor did it achieve the highest score... but to Power Rangers fans, this was a great film! Yeah, it has its blunders, but what movie doesn’t? This movie is — along with the original — one I could watch over & over and not get tired of it. With the way the first film ended, with teasing a sequel and the addition to Tommy Oliver, it seemed like a sure thing! That, and I was truly hoping the sequel would give more screen time to Becky G & Ludi Lin. However... having an auction sale for some of the movie’s props and costumes should’ve been a giant red flag... But what do you guys think of this news? Are you happy it’s being rebooted with a new cast? Are you sad we won’t see these five don their ranger suits again? ⚡️
Woah, I can’t believe we’re already at the 25th anniversary of True Lies! This is tied with Titanic as my favorite James Cameron film. Not to mention, this is the movie at the top of my list for ‘movies to be released on bluray’. You’d think with the 25th anniversary here, it would’ve happened! Sadly no, but us movie buffs can dream, right? Definitely going to be watching this later tonight! 🎬
"#PlayingwithFire should have been named Four Men and Three Babies since it’s basically a cartoonish remake of the ’80s Three Men and a Baby(if you look through rose-colored glasses of youth somewhat). I would have preferred a little Gutenberg awfulness over the supporting cast trying to be ad-lib through a remarkably lazy script that can make the most inept of works look inspired. The first few minutes actually start off well in a sense; you have a bunch of smokejumpers leaping out of a plane and looking like a Vegas all-male review show that goes for laughs saving weak men and their women who want a little more Kurt Russell in their lives. It then turns into a G-rated comedy that you think is a vehicle for a new My Little Pony franchise since they banter about it more than Patricia Heaton talked about Castle on The Middle."

"#Midway has your classic throwback characters that are like talking toy dolls that, when you pull the string back, they will spew out such classic lines as, “Oh Boy”,” Give ’em Hell,” and a somber, “He was a good man…” In fact, almost every scene ends with so much damn virility the camera pans and pauses for such a brief moment I thought all the actors were holding to be on the cover of Time magazine. That being said, I have a soft spot for most films that try to honor our veterans, especially ones looking that have the intention of highlighting the achievements of America’s greatest generation. Even more so when honoring actual, real-life American heroes, especially considering today’s generation looks up to pro-athletes, Hollywood stars, or worse, the social media-reality types. This film is about when men were men, all handsome, in uniform, and not one has a sign of male pattern baldness (I’m still debating if Woody Harrelson was fitted for a wig or CGI). None of the pilots have wind puffing up their perfect cheekbones in midflight and certainly, no one’s blood pressure is up when under attack from enemy fighters. You greet each man with a handshake, not a hug, and women, when worried, knew how to hide in a bathroom when distraught, and use the door for that shoulder to cry on. While sitting in the theatre, I was sure most men wanted to be them, and most women wanted to do them. Hell, when I watched Dick Best dive bomb a Japanese destroyer and then turn back and go at them one more time as if he was returning a few rounds of blazing hot lead he borrowed last week, I briefly considered giving my wife a hall-pass for him that night; only him, though."-M.N.
