If this ninety-and-a-half-year-old can come out in the wind and rain to cast her vote there should be few excuses for anyone else. This is IMPORTANT. #everyvotecounts#election2019

Young women (under 30) are the group LEAST LIKELY TO VOTE according to @she.votes , and as 81% of you following my account are exactly that, I feel like I gotta serve you some voting tea!
If young women were as likely to vote as the total population then almost A MILLION EXTRA VOTES would be cast!
Equally according to @opblackvote there are over 100 marginal seats where BAME vote could either decide or significantly influence. If, and that is no guarantee, this election is won outright it will probably be by a very small majority; around 20-40 seats. Therefore BAME ladies, your vote is even more crucial!
Remember TOMORROW your voice counts.
You don't need you ID, you don't need you ballot card- just turn up because it's your god damn given right. Vote for the party you think will fight for you and tackle issues like street harassment and safety in our streets.
Polling stations open from 7am-10pm

I got pregnant half way though my degree. I tried to stick it out but I couldn’t. I had SPD (they call it PGP now I think) so badly that I couldn’t bare to move and morning sickness that was all day long and had me spending hours on the floor crying in a heap. Then when I had Alfie, I decided to go back and I graduated with my 1 year old by my side. I decided that I would only be in my job a year and then I would change. I’m an ambitious girl and I’ve never stayed anywhere too long. Us “millennials” love to job hop! So when a year came round, an opportunity arose at work but it was taken away from me before I had the chance to go for it. Then another opportunity which I went for and didn’t get. Then all avenues closed and I went further afield. For the past 6 months I’ve been squirrelling away applying for jobs under the radar. I applied for one a few months ago and heard nothing, then an invitation came to a shortlisting talk. From 180 applicants, 64 were shortlisted and I was one of them, from that 26 were taken to second stage interviews and from that 15 were taken to third stage video interviews to appoint to 8 posts. I found out last week that I made it and I’m one of the 8. The reason I’m posting this? It’s voting day tomorrow and my new job is with the NHS. I’ve worked my ass off and now it’s being rewarded, I’ve been appointed as an Education Mental Health Practitioner (Trainee) in a local NHS Trust. My job in a nutshell? Making sure our next generation have adequate and efficient access to mental health services, me being one of the first ports of call. If not for me, for the children, THEY need our NHS. THEY need these schemes to continue. THEY need everything we can offer them. Please vote tomorrow. We’re voting @uklabour (despite being a @thegreenparty house) because the Tories need to go. Don’t vote for me, vote for the kids, the educators, the working class people. It’s not I’m a A Celeb and we’re not voting for people, were voting for policies. We’re voting for the protection of our youth.

It’s Election Day here in the UK and it’s a sorry state of affairs. I have never felt worse about casting a vote in my entire life, I do not feel represented by anyone. The campaign has been disgusting on both sides. One side seems to be unable to tell the truth which drives the lack of trust felt by so many. Also, worryingly, the left is supported by a shocking number of people who claim we must be kind, fair, generous, compassionate and considerate before stating that ‘All Tories are c***s’. It’s absolutely mindless.
Whoever you vote for today, my assumption is that you are a kind, fair, generous, compassionate and considerate person. I know it for a fact that most people are. My experience in life has taught me that c***s are to be found in all walks of life and across the political spectrum. I’m even a bit of a c**t myself sometimes. Can you honestly say that that you have never been a bit of a c**t at some point in your life? We’re all fallible.
Today however I am still filled with hope. I have spent the best part of my adult life communicating with and trying to understand people with very different views and values to my own. Impressing my opinions on them never worked but, almost without fail, we could always find a common ground and come to an understanding. It’s not about sides anyway, aren’t we all on the same side? Our society should take its cue from a great photograph; something that is composed with different shapes, elements, colours and depth but, most importantly of all, balance.

Congratulations to Boris and the Tory party. I always thought him intelligent but i would swing to the left myself. In Ireland there are two main parties who are both right winged as yet. That is how it stands. Well anyhow may Boris use his brain wisely. This is the message of today. Sync.
My current feelings on yesterdays election results... As someone who struggles chronically with rumination & overthinking it’s so important not get caught up in future catastrophic thinking because of all the uncertainty.
I would be lying if I said that I hadn’t been feeling anxious about the future of our country for the future generations to come. Led by a right wing government, I fear that our country will be an unsafe place for minority groups & some of our most vulnerable people.
Our society is so polarised & fragmented. This reflects in all our social issues; crime, poverty, climate change, discrimination, racism, people not having the access to healthcare, a healthcare system in financial crisis, rise in homelessness, social care crisis, an unfair benefits system, education etc.
Despite all this & the challenges that we will have undoubtedly have to face in the future - I do have hope.🌹 I have hope & faith in the younger generations & those generations to come. That they will have the strength & courage to stand up against capitalism, corruption & inequality & fight for a kinder & more fair political system & society.
If like me, you woke yesterday feeling low & politically hung over - this is a gentle reminder that it is normal to feel uneasy in times of change or uncertainty.⚡️
Remember to be kind to yourself, take the time to switch off from the news & social media when you need to & to prioritise self care 💕
