Second project: A #naturalstonebench (@serenitylandscaping)
We came up with a quick sketch and design of a natural stone bench for our second project... Picture 1: Deciding what the base stones were going to be, we wanted it to be between 18-21 inches in height, so we built up 3 layers of stone, 2 side pieces and a middle one for stability. The middle stones were more pizza shaped instead of rounded but we had to work with what we had.
Picture 2+3: Once we shimmed and built up our stones to around 21 inches in height it was time to find the 2 bench seats. We had a hard time trying to level both sides of bench seats but with some chiselling and shaping of some stones we ended up getting them level. We had to build the back up for support and more stability as well.
Picture 4: the finished product. We were running low on material at this point and we wish we could of built up the arm rests to one level higher... All in all it came out a little bulky but very sturdy. Not bad for a first time!
