Everyone is thinking the same thing! Right? Right? Everyone is secretly hoping they don’t get gifts from people so they are forced to gift in return. So let’s just stop. Instead, tell someone you care for them. Bake them some cookies. But don’t gift people gifts that will just add clutter to their life and don’t really mean anything! Everyone is money conscious. Everyone is trying to do better with their finances. So let’s help them by not adding to the problem.
You’re turn to chime in. Am I way off base here? Is it just me that secretly hopes a bunch of people don’t give me gifts so I feel obligated to return the gesture? I promise I’m not a grinch. I just believe in quality time with people over things!

I share to feel really embarrassed about how early I go to bed... which is usually around 8:30 pm. I get up at 3 am on most days, so to be honest it’s really not that early. ⏰ I don’t feel bad or embarrassed anymore! We as humans don’t take care of our bodies and minds as much as we should! Get your rest and set your alarm early to get your hustle on! 💰

We need to stop saying this. Seriously. And for a number of reasons.
1. There are plenty of people who can’t afford to buy. Stop making them feel bad.
2. For some people (🙋🏼♀️), renting is a choice. It’s a service you pay for, like getting a house cleaned, getting your pet groomed or hiring a personal assistant.
3. In some areas, renting is the better choice financially, long term. Don’t at me 🤣. Just do the research.
4. Renting gives you flexibility. You can pick up and move whenever you’d like.
5. Some people have no desire to spend time on home maintenance.
So there you have it. And you now probably know where I stand 😂. I’m not saying I’ll never own again (we owned our home in Halifax). But for right now, we’d rather spend the majority of our time at the beach, traveling, etc: not doing all the stuff home ownership can involve. Owning a home isn’t a priority to us. So how about you? Weigh in on the rent vs. buy debate! Do you think we’re crazy for not wanting to buy? 🤪
Also, go check out @personalfinanceclub for some interesting stats on owning a home as an investment.
Wow! Three years ago today, my now husband and I watched @theminimalists documentary for the first time. We were so inspired by the idea and donated 14 trash bags full of shit we didn’t need on the very first day. We have watched the documentary many times since then, and we continue to try and embrace minimalism every day.

No, I didn’t get a new car for Christmas.
Today marks exactly one year since we walked into a dealership and bought my car in cash (well actually a personal check).
After months of research, test drives, and looking.
After hours upon hours of budget meetings, check-ins, and conversations.
After two years of intensely saving every extra dollar we could.
After driving an older car with limited space, a broken radio, and no bells and whistles.
After it seemed that everyone we knew was buying a new car.
Because back in 2012, we vowed to never borrow money again (besides our mortgage).
So we stayed the course. And it was worth it.
No, we don’t have an astronomical income. No, we didn’t receive a gift of money or an inheritance. It’s because we paid off all of our debt (over 80k) in 2014 and live below our means.
I used to think it wasn’t possible to buy a nice car with cash. Until we did it. And if we can do it, you totally can too.
Groceries for the upcoming week. I’m obsessed with taking fish or chicken and making healthy “bowls” with them with spinach, veggies, a tiny bit of rice, avocado and whatever else I decide I want that day. I got some really nice tilapia filets for super cheap this time and they’ll be perfect! My most expensive item was my sugar free chocolates 😂 I went a little nuts in the bulk section, but that’ll last me 2 weeks for sure.

Tell it #daveramsey! Stop spending money making other people rich or just to impress!
I NEED a printer! I have so many things I am wanting to print but threw ours out just last year for no reason. I am trying to go cheap so color is not a priority for me. .
These are the 2 I am currently looking at. Does anyone have either of these? If not, what do you have that can be found for $100 or less?

Is anyone else struggling to maintain a healthy diet and be hydrated in this hot weather...? It’s so easy to order take away (goodbye money 💸🍔) or eat crisps or ice cream for dinner to save on shopping and cooking (I’m not kidding that’s what I ate on Friday night for dinner 🙊) I started counting how many vegetables I had eaten in the last few days and (as a vegetarian) the number was shockingly low.. which then made me realise I’m not drinking enough water either. ‘Set me up Sunday’ health wise featuring a healthy breakfast at home (I wanted to go out but saved my money 💰) and a Twinnings Infuse to make my water taste delicious and help me get hydrated without any artificial colours or flavours 🌸✨. #LivenUpYourWater#ColdInfusions#InfuseColdInfusions#HealthyHydration#Gifted#TwiningsCollab@twiningsau

I'm creating one single financial goal for 2020 and that's to pay off the remaining $37k of student loan debt.
Being the money nerd that I am, I created a forecast budget for 2020, which includes all our monthly, quarterly, and annual expenses + fully funding our Christmas & back to school sinking funds.
Without accounting for any merit increases, we're projected to put about ~$33k towards student loans. With a $4k deficit, we'll be working hard to make an additional $300/month so that we can meet this goal.
Of course, things will come up. This is why having an emergency fund is important. We’re also a month ahead thanks to @youneedabudget
You may wonder how I'm able to think we can achieve this especially since our income projection doesn't match. Setting goals BEYOND your current capacity forces you to work harder.
I challenge you to push yourself beyond what you're currently capable of in 2020. You'll be surprised what you'll actually achieve.

This is why I’m on a debt free journey. These are only two of my school loans. You aren’t reading it wrong. I’m hoping to change the way people look at student loans, they aren’t a necessity for school. There are so many option that I wish I took advantage of when I’m in college. Even if this starts with my boys, I’ll be happy! #debtfreejourney#schoolloandebt#daveramsey#budget#babysteps#madeformore
Keeping track of where my money goes has been so eye opening. Cash envelopes really help me stay on track! .
I paid off 2 cards this month 🎉🎉
My savings is growing. I know I am supposed to put all my money towards debt, but I am a SAVER. I need to save some money each pay.
Are you a saver or do you put all your money towards debt?
