Taking care of yourself, doing the right thing for you, setting a limit or boundary is hard to do if it wasn’t modeled as *ok* growing up.
The feelings you’re having... are understandable. That’s all part of the growing experience. 💗🌻 #healthyboundaries#relationshipskills#mentalhealthawareness

When we hear “self-love”, we often think of a state of being or a place to get to. Self-love is frequently talked about in a way that relieves us of feeling bad, negative, or challenged (hint: it doesn't remove those parts of being human). It’s such an important practice (key word: practice), isn’t it?
And, a piece that is often missing from the conversation is this: a big part of the practice of self-love is taking personal responsibility: for our feelings and responses, for the way we show up in the world, for how we care for and treat ourselves, for how we work through the messiness, for the boundaries we set and the things/people/feelings we let go of, for putting our own well-being first, even if it means disappointing someone else, for what we choose and don't choose… for all of it.
Practicing self-love and self-acceptance isn’t about blindly loving everything about ourselves and avoiding confronting the hard stuff. It’s about deeply knowing that we are inherently worthy no matter what, *and* that it takes our own effort, awareness, and understanding to align our lives in such a way that extending love and compassion to ourselves becomes possible.
Choosing to recognize the responsibility we have over how we respond to our lives is challenging, because it means we can no longer put the blame elsewhere (which doesn’t really get us anywhere in terms of growth, movement, or shifting). It means we can no longer use anything outside of ourselves as an excuse as to why we treat ourselves like dirt or talk to ourselves so harshly. It means taking a deeper look and acknowledging the blocks and barriers, saying "it's okay that I'm here *and* here is where my work is", and doing something about them in order to make room for our own well-being. And, it means practicing compassion, forgiveness, and accountability, all of which support us in owning the fullness of who we actually are.
Self-love requires self-responsibility. This isn't easy; it's learned, and takes daily practice. But when the responsibility is in our own hands, nothing else can take it away, and we have more say in our own lives – there isn’t much more powerful than that. Happy Friday, friends. ✌🏻
There’s so much power packed into a therapeutic “aha!”. What are some of the moments that changed you for the better? What experiences set you on a new direction in your healing? Who are the people that helped you? What have people said to you that opened you up to a new way of living and being? I’ve shared four of mine. I’d love to hear yours. 🧡
Dust in the Wind
I close my eyes
Only for a moment and the moment's gone
All my dreams pass before my eyes, a curiosity
Dust in the wind
All they are is dust in the wind
Now don't hang on
Nothin' last forever but the earth and sky
It slips away
And all your money won't another minute buy
Dust in the wind
Everything is dust in the wind
When I moved to Hamburg the first I fell in Love with was the Wind. The Power and the Energy of the wind, when you Walk outside at the harbour was incredible. It Made me feel Alive and awaken. My lungs are filled every day with the fresh air the wind gives me as a present of Life. I am so grateful to be able to breathe. Altough it seems to be normal and so simple, breathing really conscious has an immense Impact on your daily Life, your Attitude, your Feelings your Status quo. Have you ever Tried to do nothing for a certain Period, but only to concentrate on your breath? Trough breathing you can arrive in the Here and now, to let go of all the limitations you think you have and just feel the universal energy trough the Connection with all, the Nature, the Animals, the Humans, the earth, the divine all around us.
Don't wait that your Life Changes, be the Change. Be the Wind as in the book the Alchemist. Be the dust. Be all around.

Wonderful weekend in San Jose. Visited the Winchester House again. Such a beautiful place. Here’s a few pics of the rooms and spots that I felt the most energy, especially the first pic I didn’t want to walk away from that spot. I can’t explain exactly what I felt but it was pretty strong. The web connected to the fallen chandelier was so powerful I wish I could of touched it. The spiderweb widow is just so magical I stood there as long as I could. Then when I was under the skylight i felt as if I was being watched. It was pretty cool I must say! And I just love the 13 bush. It’s just so amazing. Since the first time I went to the Winchester house I felt a strong connection to Mrs Winchester and this visit it was even more so. I don’t believe a lot of the hype surrounding the house and her but I do know she was a kind soul with a broken heart and deserves a lot of respect 🖤 #winchester#winchestermysteryhouse#sanjose#webs#spiderwebs#beauty#sky#solitarywitch#naturalwitch#lucky13#windows#mrswinchester#witchy#ghostly#spirits#connection#beauty#myphotography
