Few movies are like gems. Especially the comical ones. They can never be replaced. The cast, the story, the emotions, the beautifully written screenplay, will never leave their grip from you. These are few such (comedy) films I've seen in recent times. I am sure you'll enjoy them too.
Having said that, I would like to add: Films are the best escape after books.
1) The Birdcage
2) How the Grinch stole Christmas
Thinking of a show to binge watch? I recommend POSE.
From the creators of American Horror Story comes this drama set in the 1980s.
If you are not prejudice to queers, gays, lesbians and trans, then you will love love lovvvvveee POSE.
You can stream season 1 on Netflix. The second season just premiered yesterday on FX.
I love the cast ensemble of this show and how the characters are explored.
The writers and creators did an AMAZING job.
WHAT MEN WANT.
Ali Davis(Taraji P Henson) a female sport agent in a male dominated "boys club"s industry gets passed up for a well-deserved promotion.
Angry and heartbroken, she heads out to her friend's bachelorette party where she meets SISTER. an hippie weed smoking psychic who gives her some 'weird ass tea' to drink.
After hitting her head at the club as she & her girlfriends party, Ali wakes up in the hospital with a new superpower---- reading thoughts---- MEN'S THOUGHTS.
She completely freaks out,but then realizes this new ability might just be her way into the "boys club". Now having the upper hand, Ali races to sign the next basketball superstar (Jamal Barry), while navigating a blooming relationship with Will, a hot single father she had a one night stand with.
But Ali's new super powers soon becomes her greatest undoing; messing up her relationship with her girlfriends, and hottie dad.
Since the movie is loosely based off What women want, we kinda had an idea the pattern this would follow, though we expected few surprises but got none.
The film had it's moments e.g that funny sex & elevator scene. But it also stayed safe, almost afraid to explore areas that would have made it the unforgettable comedy of 2019.
For a gender flip remake, the angle of 'what men want' wasn't really explored just touched on the surface as opposed to the film it was based off .
The movie just proves what we already know about men, showing nothing has changed in thoughts and deeds.
But Taraji brought her A game as Ali Davis and the film thrived cos of this. She and her geek assistant Brandon(he made me laugh hard) had good screen chemistry and their antics kept us glued, more than once.
Tracy Morgan as Jamal Barry's father wasn't really given wings to soar, his character could have added more spice if explored well. And Ali's girlfriends were just bleh except for Olivia the white friend.
What Men want is a decent comedy, safe & at best an ok flick, a good girlfriend movie. You get few laughs, you miss some punchlines that didn't land well but you are still entertained. And that's why we will put it as RECOMMENDED.

I loved this movie. This one is an 80's action comedy starring the one and only Chevy Chase. He plays an undercover journalist and he hooks onto a case which gradually becomes a wild goose chase.
The way the storyline goes, as well as the jokes involved really reminded me of the Beverly Hills Cop movies. Even though this is not the funniest Chevy Chase movies out there, there are some interesting and really funny sequences in this flick and it's sure is one good action comedy from that time.
As I said, it's a well made 80's action comedy flick and I loved it; it was exactly what I had expected. And BTW, that's a really funny tagline for a movie!
