I’m going to be honest with you guys. This last week we just had was pure hell. I know it may seem like I have my shit together on social media but on the inside I was a wreck.
For those of you who watch my stories on Instagram, you may have heard me talk about how I hadn’t been feeling well the last week or two and how I thought my pre workout was making me sick. Well, that was partly true. I was able to exchange it for a lighter one and my body seemed to handle that one better. But I started feeling sick again. I had pains that we’re becoming more intense in my upper left abdomen, I was constantly nauseous and could feel it at the bottom of my throat, my energy levels were decreasing, I had the worst night sweats, and my appetite for anything was fading away.
Thursday was the worst day of them all. I called my mom crying after my workout (by the way it was her birthday... happy birthday, Mom- love your extreme train wreck of a daughter) because I thought something serious was going on.
I decided I needed to go see a doctor because all of these symptoms were getting worse as the days went by. Luckily, I was able to be seen right away.
It turns out, anxiety can have a greater impact on our bodies than we even know. Long story short-For those of you who don’t know or are new to following me- I had suffered from anxiety and took medications for it during high school and my first few years of college. In the summer of 2017 I noticed the medications were starting to have more negative effects on me than good ones and decided to stop taking them and go for a more homeopathic route instead. I used exercise, nutrition, and personal development as my alternative medicine and it had worked ever since.
I thought I had my anxiety under control but sometimes it creeps back in and begins to control you. It’s okay to not be okay. But it’s not okay to not do anything about it. Ask for help when you need it. I can tell you one thing for sure. Ever since talking with my doctor, my body has felt normal again. No more nausea, no more pains. Nothing. Talking things out does more good than a lot of people realize. (Continue reading in comments👇🏼)
