CUBS WIN! Cubs defeat the pirates 7-1! The cubs finally win a road series! This is also the first road series we have won against a team in our division. Cubs had a great game all around today. Castellanos Heyward and Rizzo all went deep today. RBIS: Rizzo (2), Schwarber (2), Bryant, Heyward, Castellanos. Quintana also pitched great today going 7 innings with 5 hits 0 ER 7 K’s and 0 BB. Cubs are 0 games behind the cards but we are technically in 2nd since the cards win percentage is .001 higher than us. Cubs have an off day tomorrow and then come back to wrigley to take on the giants in a three game series. While cubs face the giants cards are facing the Brewers so hopefully the brewers can grab a few wins to give us first place.
Today in Day Two of the WC Dukes Showcase @zo.knows_ scrimmaged. He pitched a great three pitch inning and played outfield. At the plate he put the ball in play twice and had a great 12 pitch at bat before earning a base on balls. Thanks again to all the colleges represented today. #baseball#hsbaseball #lefty

Today we lost 7-2 to the Seattle Mariners
Getting shutout like this isn’t fun, but truth be told this shows how much Vladdy Impacts the blue jays. Not a great performance, 7 runs and two hits is definitely what you don’t want to see. On the bright side Vladdy won’t be out for long........

Two more homers in the last 2 days for my dude @dj_lemahieu . Sounds like a broken record, but consistency is what makes great players great. Stay with your approach and trust it. If you hit the ball on the barrel good things happen. Another BIG point...Young hitters, pay attention to the pitch locations. The pitch doesn’t have to be perfect for us to do damage! If we are always waiting for the “perfect” pitch we are going to miss a lot of opportunities to do damage. My favorite and one of my biggest pet peeves is when I see a hitter take a fastball right down the middle and start shaking their head like oh yeah I see it now, then chase two breaking balls in the dirt and strike out. We have all seen it happen or been the one that did it. Stay aggressive and if it’s close, destroy it!
