i’m about to say something really taboo:
I don’t like yoga...
don’t let the picture fool you.
i have tried so hard to like it. i’ve gone to classes in the past and given it a true effort, but for some reason my super inflexible (actually) butt just can’t seem to figure it out. it’s ironic though how you can’t even tell that from this picture.
here’s another thing you can’t tell from pictures: the class i went too today was hot yoga. it was 100+ degrees and i was sweating profusely. i had to leave the class, the one hour class, for a 𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘧 𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘳, because the heat made me wildly sick to my stomach. i had to walk out of there tail between my legs while all my friends (pictured above) were left to tough it out and wonder where the heck i had gone. so not only is it something i don’t love to do, but i can’t even hang when i go!
it’s so wild how i can post a picture, or you can post a picture, and it says something about us to the world. a picture is worth a thousand words, but more times than not the photos lead you somewhere far from reality. we’re all just here trying to post the “highlight reel.”
never let the polished pictures convince you someone else is thriving more, or thriving “better.” instagram is a very marvelous, yet very isolating tool. don’t let it lead you to believe you’re the only person who feels the way that you’re feeling. heck i might look like a yogi in this one picture— but i am 𝘴𝘰 not (still loved hanging with these awesome girls though!)
Oh yeah, and ~swipe~ for a picture of my health-centered-physique-focused dinner. 👍🏻
remember that social media is a rat race...
... ever think you’re falling behind.
