So, if I could go back in time to yesterday approx 2:30pm I would. But the truth is I cannot and I am now on a slightly less planned for path; recovery. -
An unfortunate incident yesterday has left me with a broken collarbone and I’m informed this now makes me a ‘true cyclist’. -
I am feeling pretty bummed about it all. As it makes me question my skills, what I value and what I’m doing. I’m a very positive person though and I can guarantee you this fuel will be used and I will come back stronger. Sometimes we all need some setbacks in bring us back to earth. -
I thankfully have some amazing helpers her in Belgium and @georgiekaterose@lizziestannard are already arguing over who’s going to be doing my hair for me. -
Independence is something I have always worked hard to achieve for myself whether it be financial, living or otherwise so I do struggle when I feel like I lose some of this control. But every time it reminds me how much we really do need the help of others and we should ask for help. People want to help you, you just have to be willing to ask. -
Thank you to all the people that have supported me to get to Europe this year; @bulknutrients@kom_financial_advice@tasmanian_institute_of_sport@fedunisport@feduniaustralia Kempe Engineering, Launceston Plumbing, Essential I promise I will be back next year, this is just a bump in the long road :) -
Recovery time; about 6 weeks until the road. Meanwhile; how good is @gozwiftausnz going to be 🤪
Pain level; better with chocolate 🍫
Lessons learnt; still don’t bounce. Fk.
Just over two weeks since the crash. Recovering well. Concussion almost completely gone, swelling reduced, elbow wound healing slowly, and collarbone feels better. Thank you for all the kind messages 🦋
Get me back on the bike.
