Parasite (2019) South Korea
Dir : Bong Joon Ho
As a movie lover and while studying cinema, I watch a lot of movies so thought of sharing few great movies for all the movie lovers.
Well going through lot of movies I finally decided to go with Parasite as my first post in this new account.
As some of you might be knowing about the Parasite movie that it is a masterpiece of alltime.
The movie premiered at Cannes 2019 (May) , as a festival follower I got know about the movie which won Palme d'Or at Cannes. The Palme d'Or is the highest prize awarded at the Cannes Film Festival. It was introduced in 1955 by the festival's organizing committee.
This is a story about an extremely poor family of four members who uses their cleverness and dishonesty to place themselves in the service of the super rich family. The whole movie consists of only ten characters and every scene of movie tries to tell , how the living conditions & thought process of poor people are always affected by the rich people. The rich never want the poor to come out of poverty.
The director of the movie Mr Bong makes you like and dislike every character , the first half is takes audience with full of successful guessing where as it is completely plays the opposite in the 2nd half.
This is one of the movie out of very less movies which changes it's genre from comedy to thriller. As I heard from one of the reviewer that this is not film but a film school. That's true, it is a film school I can go on writing about this. I remember while watching the movie for the third time I discovered many small things which were missed out.
Finally the movie loved by the whole world and made it's way to winning the Oscar. The first foreign movie in the history of Oscar to win in best motion picture category. This is my all time recommendation for all the movie lovers out their.

'Rushmore' Review Vol.2
Rushmore when compared to Bottle Rocket, shows that Wes Anderson has improved his technical prowess by a large margin. He uses his camera work way more effectively by using different styles for different scenes.
Some scenes are normal steady camera work that uses occasional close ups to the character's faces when something is revealed about a character. Then he uses tracking shots sporadically for big moments. Along with occasional slow zoom ins and slow motion in general, when it comes to the character of Max Fisher.
But what I really found a step up, was the usage of colours in this movie thematically. In Bottle Rocket, the two leads had individual arcs and thus had individual colours that represented them but Bottle Rocket has 3 leads whose arcs parallel eachother, which completely changes the way Wes uses colours when it comes to character. A change that is certainly beyond genius.

Corona Virus Movie Review:
Godzilla: City on the Edge of Battle is certainly better than the previous film, however it gradually started to loose me around the halfway mark. Starting with a far more interesting premise than the last film and establishing a civilization that’s in immediate danger and can’t escape, teasing the introduction of other monsters, this movie had promise. That’s about where it ended though, with promise. There was so much talk of MechaGodzilla but nothing ever came of it, Mothra’s twins make an appearance and are well established with individual personalities seen through very subtle differences, but Mothra never makes any kind of appearance, we don’t even see her egg with as much talk of it as there was. Again the movie entirely wastes the medium it’s presented in. Aside from some expensive explosions there is no reason why this is animated. By far the largest Godzilla ever but we have no way of experiencing his immense size since there is absolutely nothing seen that he can be compared to. Once again the setting is just a forrest. There is a city as the title would imply but it’s baron, nothing but metal domes with no details to provide perspective. And can one really say the city is on the edge of battle when there are no people and the “battle” is so one sided that you could almost call it pointless? In the end Godzilla: City on the Edge of Battle is just as disappointing as the last film, if not more because it actually started with some serious potential. 4/10 #4k#bluray#4kuhd#4kbluray#4kbluraycollection#movie#movies#uhd#collection#collector#movienight#moviebuff#moviegeek#cinephile#cinephiles#cinephilecommunity#filmfan#blurayjunkie#netflix#godzilla#godzillacityontheedgeofbattle#anime#godzillaanime#dissapointment#mechagodzilla

BACKSTOCK: ‚Enemy‘ by Denis Villeneuve on #bluray •
Enemy is an atmospheric and addictive psychodrama with occasional thriller and horror elements that is often top heavy and dark. The often sober, surreal imagery, which is almost always tricky, develops a fascinating attraction that you have to deal with consciously. This is surely Villeneuve's least mass-produced film.
The film noir in yellow has an arthous touch. The partly surreal image compositions allow countless interpretations, which at first glance makes the film appear bulky and unapproachable. The film only unfolded its power after having seen it several times. Many pieces of the puzzle can be discovered over time and combined to form a meaningful whole. But that means 'work' for everyone who gets involved with the film. A 'job', but in my eyes it is very worthwhile.
The Departed | 2006 | Martin Scorsese | IMDB 8.5
Billy Costigan is a smart young guy who wants to be a cop and make a good name for himself in the world of law enforcement. He didn’t have a good family background, his father and uncle both were criminals so he was chosen to be an undercover cop to infiltrate a ruthless syndicate head Frank Costello because he is known to them and it’s easy for him to get in the group. Collin Sullivan is a smart criminal who had successfully infiltrated the police department to inform Frank of every strategy of the police. Meanwhile, Costigan enters the tightly guarded Frank’s inner circle, Sullivan takes the responsibility of rooting out the police informer before the situation becomes worse. Now both of them are running out of time so they have to work feverishly to expose each other’s identity.
Another masterpiece by Martin Scorsese, this movie is inspired by a popular 2002 Hong Kong film Internal Affairs.

I don’t know what to call this, ‘false subtext’ maybe? When an image represents the subtext and people act like it’s profound once they spot it. What is important is inverted to most cinephiles who believe the image takes precedence over Jones’s nuanced acting. https://twitter.com/coenesqued/status/1248463606129123328 …

La La Land: “Here’s to the ones who dream”
Oh my. Where to begin. This is a feel-good-but-also-cry-your-eyes-out-masterpiece. It’s a story of two people who unexpectedly fall in love even though their dreams and aspirations keep them a part; although they’re meant to be together, their faith is a force that they can’t control. It’s heartbreaking how the story plays out. Let’s start with the fact that this is a musical. The score itself with its attention in piano just stole the show from the get go. Ryan Gosling learned every piece for the movie and none of his scenes used a double. So Ryan Gosling; I loved everything about him and his chemistry with Emma Stone, and my god does she shine. This is probably one of the more relatable love stories that I’ve seen, and it was very well put together. This production sweeped the Oscar nominations in pretty much every category even best picture, and rightfully so. The story, as my father says every time we watch it, is nostalgic in its very core. A perfect love story with an imperfect ending, which in turn made it perfect.

Day 46: Children Of Men (2006) (Sci/fi, Thriller)
In 2027, 18 years of human infertility have left society on the verge of extinction. When one woman miraculously gets pregnant, Theo, a bureaucrat, must transport her to safety.
This film had some miraculously shots, the way it way shot was just amazing, it had like 4-5 of those long un cut takes, and it worked, if you liked 1917 you'd love this also, story was also quite interesting, but the cinematography stole the show, the story was always in the Shadow of its cinematography, yet the story was also quite brilliant.
Audience Score: 85%
My Personal Ratings: 8.9/10
Director: Alfonso Cuarón
Screenplay: Alfonso Cuarón, Mark Fergus, Hawk Ostby, Timothy J. Sexton, David Arata
Cinematographer: Emmanuel Lubezki .

“Io non sono mai stato un cineasta per il solo gusto di fare cinema. Amo molto la vita, come tutti, e quindi amo rappresentare quella vita che mi appartiene di più, quella realtà che più ha influenzato la mia esistenza: la realtà rurale, contadina. Io sono figlio di quella terra, è come fare un ritratto della propria madre”.

CRÓNICA DE UN SER VIVO / IKIMONO NO KIROKU / 生きものの記録 / I LIVE IN FEAR
1955 / Japón
Dirección: Akira Kurosawa
Guion: Hideo Oguni, Shinobu Hashimoto (Historia: Akira Kurosawa, Fumio Hayasaka)
Música: Masaru Satô
Fotografía: Asakazu Nakai (B&W)
Productora: Toho Company
I LIVE IN FEAR
The story concerns an elderly factory owner so terrified of the prospect of a nuclear attack that he becomes determined to move his entire extended family to what he imagines is the safety of a farm in Brazil.

A Character with so many layers, never before written in Tamil Cinema.
A KARTHIK SUBBURAJ PADAM.
Jigarthanda is raw, clearly told and properly delivered. Every scene you see has a purpose, experimenting on the grounds of realism and relativity. When films about films miserably fail, this dessert will be a genuine crowd puller. With a list of actors, tons of shots and hundreds of applause evoking dialogues, Jigarthanda is a beautifully orchestrated story.
