🍄Mr Frog on his mushroom.🍄
It feels weird drawing in this style when I’m used to more realistic portraits. Especially as it takes about the same amount of time to paint! On paper, it looks better to just carry on doing acrylic portraits, but I much prefer doing this sort of thing. Art is about escapism, and when I’m painting realistically I’m always concerned about what others think, but with this, I’m caught up in the story and the colour! It makes painting feel like drinking a warm cup of tea, comforting and right. So my new style might not look as good, but if feels a lot better.

📖 🐆 Despite everything in these times of lock down, there are always enough reasons to keep working, to pursue your goals & dreams, and to celebrate!! Thanks @maariasegoviaa for your talent 🤗
This is my third children’s illustrated book and I couldn’t be happier sharing this delightful story. It’s about courage, authenticity and integrity. It’s the story of a beautiful leopard, destined to be the most feared and ferocious leopard in the African savannah, who decided instead to follow her own path & heart ♥️! A timid little mouse came upon him unexpectedly, and in her fright and haste to get away, ran across the lion’s nose. Roused from his nap, the lion laid his huge paw angrily on the tiny creature to kill her. "Spare me!" begged the poor mouse. "Please let me go and some day I will surely repay you." The lion was much amused to think that a mouse could ever help him. But he was generous and finally let the mouse go. Some days later, while stalking his prey in the forest, the lions was caught in the toils of a hunter's net. Unable to free himself, he filled the forest with his angry roaring. The mouse knew the voice and quickly found the lion struggling in the net. Running to one of the great ropes that bound him, she gnawed it until it parted, and soon lions Lion was free. "You laughed when I said I would repay you," said the mouse. "Now you see that even a mouse can help a lion.”

We are dancing in the sunshine with @joannaghosh_illustrates 's joyful birds!! Joanna says, "‘I really enjoyed exploring different stories during the MA and creating character-based, fictional narratives that are humorous and playful. I would like to explore more Nature-based texts but I am also interested in illustrating for non-fiction stories and black and white work."
