We have received our beautiful wedding photos from the amazing @zhazha!!! After thinking about how best to share them here on my art Instagram, I thought sharing some of the design aspects of the wedding would be really fun.
So every dress I wore had some added element or was totally designed by me. This is the traditional Chinese dress feature, commonly called a cheongsam or qipao. It’s also traditionally red and gold for weddings, but I’m not super into red, so I chose a peacock blue. I had sourced the fabric myself to give to the seamstress shop in China to minimize confusion. My mother-in-law also did my measurements for me; she is a pattern drafter at a local bridal shop in San Francisco. (Most pro!) I also drew a little fashion sketch for them as a guide. They did an excellent job and even matched the trims and button to the fabric I provided. To be honest, it was a little tight when we got it, but after some clean eating and some light exercise over the course of the year, it fit beautifully without any alterations. Overall very pleased. 💖💖💖 We also had a second dinner banquet where we had lion dancers. Just thought it was a cute picture; very fun experience. 🎉🎉🎉
