Welcome back to another installment in this series! Today, we take a look at another player many people are familiar with but don't know was drafted by the Bulls.
The Chicago Bulls have sort of developed a reputation for drafting future stars but trading them away before they mature. To be fair, most of them were below-average at the time and played for some bad teams. In addition to guys like Jamal Crawford, LaMarcus Aldridge, and Elton Brand, Ron Artest is an All-Star caliber player that was drafted to the Bulls but traded away very early on. During his time in Chicago, he was pretty inefficient offensively and very raw overall, but his defensive aptitude was impressive right away. Chicago ended up trading him along with Ron Mercer, Brad Miller, and Kevin Ollie away to the Pacers for a 29-year-old Jalen Rose. He became an All-Star in 2003-04.
