Just a little throwback to remind you all that Instagram isn’t real and shouldn’t make you feel any less comfortable in your own skin. The same outfit can look so different when you pose a certain way, and if you wear it differently.
When I would struggle with binge eating, I would look for every possible way to hide my body and try to manipulate it to look like it fits the standards of social media. I would suck in as hard as I could just to see how FAKE I could make my body look.
I got to a point where I didn’t want to fake it anymore. I accepted my body as it was, understood that I was overweight and worked hard to try to get to a point where I was HEALTHY. When you stop looking at fitness as a way to “look good” or “lose weight” and you shift your mindset to want to make fitness a priority because you want to be HEALTHY, your entire perspective changes. But in order to get past all the mind blocks I had created for myself, I had to learn to love the body that I was given.
HASHTAG MIND RIGHT BODY RIGHT !! Fitness is more than just physical health. It’s mental health too and as soon as you can get your mind in a place of happiness and acceptance, everything after that becomes so much easier. 🥰🥰

I wish there was a disclaimer underneath every billboard, photo or ad that has ever been photoshopped.
A disclaimer like:
This photo has been altered.
It is not a representation of how this person looks like in real life.
My teenage years and 20s would have probably gone a whole lot differently had I known that this fantasy body I was trying so hard to achieve is being sold to me by a billion dollar industry with a lot of photo editing experts on staff.
An industry that is trying to profit off of telling me that I’m not enough and that I should always strive to mould, shape and shrink my body to maybe one day look “worthy”
My body is the vessel that allows me to be alive. It’s not my measure of self worth anymore.
"Damn you look good" said the popular guy on campus after seeing me at the gym. I had just been working out for hours and was obsessing over my lack of abs.
He added "I don't know about before but you look good now"
He totally justified my excessive exercise.
That misguided half-assed compliment fueled my obsession with my weight by sparking a false moment of happiness.
The logic was: "The popular guy thinks I look good, so I need to keep going"
So I did.
I went to the gym for hours.
Obsessed over my macros.
I hopped on the scale day after day and watch the weight drop.
Yet I was still unhappy, obsessing over my body and picking at my skin. I put on a healthy facade and paraded as "health goals"
No matter how much weight you lose, it doesn't make you happier.
This idea that your beauty and happiness is correlated with how much you weigh is heavily promotes in the media and is damaging our psyche more than you realize.
Happiness doesn't come from losing weight and losing weight on the premise you'll be happier is a lie.
Learn to love your body enough to give it what it needs.
Provide it the food it deserves.
Give it movement.
Don't leave aches and pains unaddressed.
Lose weight if you want, but do it out of love, not hate.
Let's break the shackles of diet culture together!
Cakes 😍: swipe ➡️ we purchased two caramel brownie cookies, a normal cookie, a raspberry brownie and a tiramisu for £8. Couldn’t help ourselves. Back to the apartment for a couple of hours and then off out for dinner and drinks ❤️

Bahahaha... Do you ever just have a couple glasses of something something and look at yourself in the mirror and you’re basically beer goggling yourself... Oh I’m sure you have all done it ....batting your eyes ...giving yourself that sexy smile saying “Damn...I look good tonight!” Ok well I know I have!! But in all seriousness, Maybe we can just pretend were kind of drunk all the time even when we’re not and just say yeah I look good today, and just put a smile on our faces and just believe it! I am starting to believe that happiness is seriously a choice. I know we hear it all the time but it really freaking is! Cheers and virgin cheers to loving our faces and our bodies today!! ...

❌ᒪEᗩᖇᑎIᑎG TO TᖇᑌᔕT YOᑌᖇᔕEᒪᖴ❌
Do you find yourself second guessing that decisions you make, or finding it challenging to make a decision without asking your friends and family for help?
This is a BIG ONE I see with my friends and I used to see it in myself, too.
I know you feel like you don’t know how to make a decision or you feel like you make the ‘wrong decisions’ all of the time - it used to make me feel like I couldn’t trust myself. I used to feel like I was disconnected from myself, MY BODY, and the world.⠀⠀
Once I learned how to connect to myself and my intuition, I took responsibility of my own body, I started trusting myself more often. I trusted the feelings that I got and the decisions I made. Knowing your body, accepting it and connecting with it, it’s the way to your inner freedom and CLARITY :)
You want to feel like you’re making the right decisions and that when something arises that isn’t right for you ~ you will know ~ without having the second guess yourself, or worry and ask everyone you know for their advice.
♥️You’re ready to learn how to tune in and listen.
♥️You’re ready to accept your body.
♥️You’re ready to trust yourself.
♥️You’re ready to feel guided by your intuition.
Once you learn to listen to your intuition 🙏🏼
❌you learn the language of the body
⭕️you move the body in a healthy way
❌you release unwanted emotions that hold you back
⭕️you learn to acceptance your body and build trust in yourself.
Once you learn these tools:
♥️ You be able to access your intuition with ease.
♥️ You start to trust your gut and your decision making skills will sky rocket.
♥️ Your physical pains and tightness will go away.
♥️ Your body works for you (not against you).
