If you didn’t know, I only recently started playing Scythe and I LOVE IT 😍. My first play as Crimea went pretty well. Came in 🥈, one more turn and I think I had it...
Also realistic resource upgrade 👍🏻👍🏻

First #mezoboardgame god from @kolossalgames ready to conquer. Armies were done pretty easily - zenithal priming plus two layer of citadel washes. But god minis are too unique and great to treat them the same way. This guy was done in 10h+ hours, mandatory zenithal, then basecoating (the longest part surprisingly) with just four colors (mostly ivory and dark sand for shadow parts), then some fun with washes, and finally highlights to enhance direction from which sun is shining. Time for next gods and MAYBE we will be able to play Mezo by the end of the year 😂.

My wife is currently undefeated at Tapestry (yes, she’s pretty awesome like that). This was our first 3p game, she was the Alchemists and hit the science track pretty heavy.
So far we are really *really* enjoying this game. The turns go quickly and the mechanics of the game are very accessible. However, beneath that ease of play surface, there are deep decisions that relate to your overall strategy.
Key to victory: Timing, the order of ascending the various tracks, and a small bit of luck (but only in tapestry card selection, which can be mitigated by getting more of these 😂).
So far this is another hit with our family and friends @jameystegmaier#stonemaiergames#tapestry

OMG you guys! Dune has been reprinted!
Somehow this completely slipped my radar until the end of last week- and at that point it was sold out anywhere I looked.
So while we were at the Trunk or Treat on Saturday I was talking about it to the Mister. That’s when he dropped the bomb that when he had just been at our FLGS the previous day they just received a shipment with it and gave him first dibs for his wife. 😱 Evidently he was like “nah man, I don’t even know anything about it or if my wife even wants it.”
So of course I did what any good Christian woman would do. I insisted he stopped volunteering his time and left early to go and get the game. He laughed at me- to which I said “I’m serious! You need to leave and get it! Like...nooowwwww.”
He tried to say he was there volunteering his time but I was in charge of the ToT so I was able to declare his shift over and done with....and send him to do more important work: securing a copy the very sold out Dune for me.
Fortunately someone else hadn’t bought the copy yet and he was able to get it. Now I can not wait to play this classic board game and see how it’s been updated!! 😍❤️
Have you played the reprinting? What have you heard? Are you as excited as I am?
PS to all husbands: always buy the game 😉

New edition of #eclipseboardgame is on our list for a few months (we’ve missed Kickstarter 😤), and we had a chance to play a demo of it. After about an hour at the table, we’ve became hyped even more! We love #twilightimperium, but it’s too massive and complex to find a place on our table more often. #eclipseseconddawnforthegalaxy from @kolossalgames has a chance to fill the gap on the market, providing true, rich, and complex space experience, but in a more accessible way. After the demo it’s a must-have for us, this can be the best modern space 4x.

We’ve tried #grimdynasty, newest #expansion for #villageattacks from @grimlord_games. It was a simple but very engaging play, new heroes have some very unique skills, and tactician and milita give new mechanics providing extra deepness for the gameplay. Thanks for having us!

First game of Tapestry is in the books.
While the Entertainers created an impressive capital (just look at all those landmarks) it wasn’t enough to overcome the technologically advanced Craftsmen.
Initial impression: This is a giant puzzle where timing is critical and every decision is meaningful. More to come as we log more plays. We are looking forward to digging into all this game has to offer. #stonemaiergames@jameystegmaier

A game of Spirits of the Wild by the lake with my eldest. 🦊 I only won by 3 points! The games are strong with this one.
P.S. I love photos of gaming outdoors such a cool fox shadow!

On Mars we loved at first sight. Complex, many ways to win, deep, and rich with different strategies. And it looks amazing, one of the most beautiful games we've ever seen. The board, meeples, and other components, everything here fits together great, and like all other games from @vitallacerda and @eaglegryphon, #onmarsboardgame immersion is 10+/10.
But don't be fooled by its gorgeous cover, it's a heavy game, which the hardcore players will love in particular. Boxes on Essen are highly overpriced (134 euros!), so we've decided to wait one month for a local deluxe version, cheaper by almost 50 euros.
I never thought how much fun a game could be in which you mainly stack little towers. But the selection of the available towers including their card (which contains a special action) and the strategy to build them as high as needed to maximize your score is very interesting. I liked the player interaction, for you always have to check the other players to see who needs which tower and who is competing with your towers.
When the DM rolls the only possible losing roll against this strength check, you know your character's been unreasonably lucky and will likely die someday from slipping on goose poop and falling down a well.
Today we tried out Coup, at Game Kings HQ. Super quick and easy, we give it 👑 👑 👑 👑 out of 5.
Coup is a bluffing card game that only takes 15 min to play. Deceive your friends and be the last one standing!
Happy Wednesday, Folks! I hope that everyone is having a great week so far and that you’ve been able to get some games in. I’ve really enjoyed taking some time to talk about the news that’s been circulating within the D&D community. I spoke about the world of Eberron, but for those who also play in Adventurers League; be on the lookout for “Oracle of War”. Oracle of War will launch in December, but will be a new “chapter” in the AL circuit. —
You will essentially play as a scavenger who adventures in Mournland in the aftermath of the “Last War”. You’re essentially paid to salvage Cyran artifacts and relics for your patrons all while fighting several monsters and uncovering buried secrets. The campaign itself will be live/active for the next 2 years making this a great campaign to get into if you’re new to D&D. Personally, I would play more Adventurers League if I could dedicate the time. Do you play in AL? If so, what is the buzz at your game store about this campaign? Tell me in the comments below. Keep Gaming! *I do not own this image*
Res Arcana! One of the most boring games I've played lately. Tom Lehmann is a decent designer (I love Roll for the Galaxy! ) and this game totally works. But it completely lacks investment and interesting decisions. It's overly long and bland. You know from the first few cards what the endgame will look like, only it is 40 minutes away.
