Black coffee, Black Flag, and what all the Black Flag shirts mean in Jordan Peele’s “Us”
I’ve been dying to figure out if I was right about the correlation of the multiple Black Flag shirts in Jordan Peele’s new movie “Us”. For starters, at the beginning of the movie which I think takes place in 1986, there’s a carnival worker wearing a “My War” t-shirt. A few scenes later we see a sign that has the Bible verse Jeremiah 11:11, which if you think about it, that is what the Black Flag bars would be. There’s other 11:11 references throughout the movie. Fast Forward to modern times, we see two different BLACK FLAG shirts which almost are used as warning signs or premonitions.
After reading up on it, turns out these Easter eggs are very true. Feel free to google it, cause I am not a professional journalist. ~
Side note: This is Henry’s favorite Black Flag album, and to me that matters. Rollins is one the most inspiring and polarizing people I’ve ever heard open their mouth. If you ever need motivation, just listen to him speak. Both of his appearances on @joerogan’s podcast are stellar. ~
If you feel like it, tell me your thoughts on “Us” or what your favorite Black Flag album is.
