Entry 16: Is contract killing keto? I would like to put it on the record that my return to Windhelm was instantly met with a lot of drinking. The Yngol Barrow thing left me quite irritated. I dare say I even broke keto a little bit. Unfortunately, shenanigans ensue when I drink. I heard about a rumor about a child summoning an assassin, and for some reason I saw an opportunity. We broke into the kid’s home, and Stenvar hid out of sight (giggling, but in a very masculine and intimidating kind of way) while I approached the child. Originally, I just wanted to spook the kid, but before I knew it I had agreed to murder the owner of an orphanage to the south in the city of Riften. Now once again, I’d like to point out the drinking. The drinking is a very important element in the story.
The rest of the night is a haze, but I remember walking out of Windhelm with Stenvar. I think it was his idea to hire the carriage to take us to Riften. We waltzed into Riften, I told him to wait outside, and then I did it. I just walked in, there were some screams (the kids may have been slightly freaked out by the walking skeleton), but those turned to laughter and cheers once I stabbed the old woman. It was the most disturbing thing I had ever seen. I ran out of the building, grabbed Stenvar and kept running to the carriage. Nobody was really out that night so we got in and out pretty easily. I figured I’d get some cash reward for the kill, but all I got was a giant tray. Somewhere along the way I forgot that I had been employed by a small child. Alcohol will do that to you I guess. Sometimes you have a little too much to drink, break into a house, accept a job as a hitman for a child, murder an old woman for said child (apparently she wasn’t that nice but still), and then collapse in a bed in the inn. Nobody said the life of a skeleton on keto would be easy. In fact, I’ve never heard of anyone mentioning anything like it at all.
♤ sheogorath ♤
the daedric prince of madness. sometimes referred to as the mad god, mad lord, mad star, and the mad one, sheogorath’s motives are unknowable. his realm, known as the shivering isles, has been called the madhouse. whoever goes to this realm is said to lose their sanity forever. some superstitions about the mad god can be found all over tamriel. for example, it is said that whoever talks to sheogorath will go insane. this is because sheogorath will give advice that is far too much information within any mortal’s capacity to know. it is also said to stay away from thunderstorms, as they are sheogoraths. some lucky people may be able to possess the wabbajack, one of the mad god’s daedric artifacts. it is said to have an unpredictable power... 🧀🧀
