Meditation …Priceless 🙏
We often undervalue those things that are most beneficial to our well-being, placing them low on our priority list perhaps because they feel difficult or even that we don’t deserve them for ourselves.
But the investment we make in ourselves pays in ways we can’t always predict. Lending energy and awareness to our own health and wellness can have a ripple effect on the rest of our lives. Our relationships improve. Our work becomes more dynamic, energized, and creative. Our ability to give, to listen, to empathize is strengthened by the care we devote to ourselves.
Those things we may view as frivolous, indulgent, or selfish might actually prove vital to our ability to engage meaningfully with the world and with ourselves.

Lunch time run with @whitney_wil_run where we met at a super fancy location (Safeway parking lot). Running isn’t always beautiful mountain views and trails 😆.
We talked about our work/life balance, and it felt good to say some of those frustrations out loud. Running with friends always helps clear my mind about stuff I’ve been stressing about! Anyone else have a hard time balancing running with ALL the other demands in our lives? I make it a priority because it helps me SO much overall, but it’s definitely not always easy to get out there when you’ve had a hard or tiring day.
I had an interview later this afternoon for a job that’s really going to challenge me, but if I get it, it’ll be a new growth opportunity 👍. We shall see 🤞🏻.

THE 3 BIGGEST MISTAKES FEMALE ATHLETES MAKE (3/3): NOT LISTENING TO THE WARNING SIGNS.
This is the 3rd of 3 posts in regards to the 3 biggest mistakes I see female athletes making. If you missed the first and second mistakes, they were not eating enough and not taking rest days. Go back and read my last 2 posts to learn more!
With that, the third mistake is not listening to the warning signs.
All of these signs are indicative of overtraining, under eating, hormonal imbalances, and other underlying health issues.
All of these signs are our bodies’ way of telling us that enough is enough and we need to cool it.
Nevertheless, female athletes often continue to push. Continue to train. Continue to cut calories. All in hopes of improving performance and achieving the perfect body we push pass the pain, ignore the hormonal imbalances, and continue to grind.
We ignore all of the signs and stop listening to our bodies.
And then, you end up like I did… not having a period for 7 years, crashing all of my sex and stress hormones, and developing digestive issues and HPA-Axis Dysfunction.
You wait until things have progressed so far that you do not have any other option than to rest.
Did you know that up to 66% of female athletes have amenorrhea (loss of menstruation)?
This is a HUGE sign that something is not right.
So, stop ignoring all of the signs and start listening to your body. I promise you that your performance will improve and your body will cooperate when you give it sufficient fuel and rest.

we spend most of our time traveling the highways of life. at a fast pace. surrounded, inspired, and influenced by all the other travelers around us.
there are times when we become too concerned by them and are unable to stay in our own lane. we compare our quality of car to their, our speed to theirs, and our distance from where we started or till destination to theirs. in doing so, loose touch with our own journey and clarity of our own goals.
this is the time to take an exit and travel some backroads. a road with no one else around, where you have your blinders on and it is all about you, where you are faced with weird turns and potential detours that excite you into a place of self discovery. we all need this time to sit with ourselves to truly be able to reflect on our journey and see opportunity for growth that IS NOT influenced by the people around you.
Reflect on who YOU were yesterday, not who you are compared to others and set goals for how YOU can be 1% better tomorrow not how you level up to others.
Then you can get back on the highway to support and grow along side all the other people who are crusin along in their own lanes.

Happy Wednesday!! You guys HAVE to try these brussel sprouts! They were cooked to perfection with mushroom, miso sesame vinaigrette, and chili thread. We had them as an appetizer and they did not disappoint!
The pizza we had was their butternut squash pizza with caramelized onions, roasted garlic, organic kale, vegan almond ricotta, and sage. This pizza definitely satisfied our craving for pizza. All the flavors worked great with each other. So we definitely recommend both of these menu items!
We know why @peta ranked Dallas one of the top 10 vegan-friendly cities! There are several choices everywhere. It’s so heart warming to see how we sometimes have a hard time deciding which vegan restaurant to go to!
