Repost from @laysieee
We live in a country screaming at the people being murdered to just “protest peacefully” These are the same people who spat death and rape threats at me for doing just that. We shouldn’t have to beg to be treated like people. We shouldn’t have to plead our case on why we deserve to live. Ending racism should never be so controversial. We shouldn’t have opposers to basic human rights. I will continue to fight. I will fight for a world that I feel safe raising my black children in.
Thank you for your participation!!💗💕

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about everything going on. And while I don’t always like to use social media for this stuff (so much miscommunication can happen), I have some thoughts I wanted to gather in a piece. I believe first and foremost that we must not let hatred for anyone take us over, even for those who have done awful things or believe in hateful sentiments. If we cannot move forward but instead beget hate with hate, we are not moving forward. Even during this time, as people gather and make signs, we need to remember that hatred has fueled something as abhorrent as racism- and hatred will only make such a thing cyclical.
I’m white and I will never understand having to explain why I’m important or talented or smart, etc because my skin color has given me a social detriment. I will never understand even the smallest parts of your life that you don’t even think about, that just come along with not being white. But I believe in love and I believe in the power of forgiveness, which pastor King also felt deep conviction for. I believe that Jesus Christ died for all to be forgiven, and we are propelled to forgive because he first forgave us (even though we did nothing to deserve this). And we can’t forget though that Christ also died and fought fervently for those who faced constant injustice, something which God himself does not approve of.
Remember the words of pastor King, and remember what fueled his fire. A fire which was motivated by justice and a desire to forgive and love. I don’t even understand how he could do that!! But wow, what an incredible stance to take.
I made this painting for a super special human in celebration of their birthday.
Love you!!! Welcome to the double digits!

Reposted from @tattoo.accountant.sa How to Support Tattooists During COVID-19 Closures • Share Artist Work With Friends
Sharing your favourite artists' work on your social media, showing it to your friends, family or co-workers...that’s all bringing free promotion for an artist who may really need it right now. Make sure to tag them if you repost one of their images: that’s a truly important way people can find their new favourite tattoo artist. After all, this industry was built on word of mouth! • Share Healed Tattoos
This is also a super easy, fun, and free way you can support tattoo artists during coronavirus closures. Believe it or not, many people like to see tattoo artists pieces healed and out in the wild, including the tattooists themselves! And for whatever reason, collectors and clients rarely send them over. • Book Future Appointments or Vouchers
As soon as the world heals and things are back on track, the tattooists you admire will be back in business with open books waiting and willing for whatever custom or flash piece you could ever desire. Grab a spot now, and you’ll be glad you did. • Buy Merchandise
Perhaps the most straight-forward and price affordable option for most people out there is buying merchandise from tattoo artists you follow and admire. There are so many options and price points; some tattooists have t-shirts, mugs, bar towels, prints, skateboards...you name it.
There’re tons of other ways to get involved and tons of artists out there doing unique and important things to keep the community thriving...so check in on your faves and see what’s up.
Go check out these studios and artists asap!! @artrageous_art
