Recovery looks different for everyone, and you don’t always know where someone is at, just by looking at their IG feed. We are humans behind the screen. Your day to day life may be filled with challenges, meal times, and food obsession. Mine might be filled with eating when I’m hungry, and doing just about anything else with my time than thinking about food. No one is better than the other, we are just at different parts in our journey. You likely won’t see me post fear foods, challenges, or pics of my body, because that’s just not where I’m at anymore. I’m human and of course I still have my struggles and obstacles to overcome, but I’m not paralyzed by my eating disorder anymore. I want to share my journey, but please know that there’s a whole other life before the one that you’re seeing on my social media. I might share my full story one day, but really that’s not what’s important. What’s important is what I’m doing right now, to ensure that I’m choosing recovery daily. That’s all it’s about. It doesn’t matter if you’re on day 1, day 1,000, or starting over again. Just choose recovery every day, I promise it’s most definitely worth it.
