And just like that.. the 2020 Open is DONE! A few words I’d use to describe my feels: PROUD - HUMBLED - INSPIRED.
The Open serves as such a integral part of the CrossFit Community. A time where members and coaches come together to put their training to the test. The atmosphere is off the charts. People slam bars and get PRs.Who doesn’t love it!?As athletes, it serves as a tool to pinpoint any holes in our game (or at least for us mere mortals it does). Those who are at the top of the game, barely even show a sign of a small crack. Which is what makes it even more impressive!Every year, the calibre of athlete continually gets better and better. Just when you think something isn’t humanly possible, someone, somewhere, proves you wrong. For some, the open is an exciting time, for others, it can be super stressful. Unfortunately, the whole idea of “leaderboarding” can play quite a toxic role in the lives of those who fixate on it. One minute, you’ve got someone riding the high of their victories, the next, they’re on the verge of a mental breakdown because things didn’t go to plan. Let me teach you a trick that I’ve picked up along my journey. Be genuinely happy for other peoples success! Don’t use the leaderboard to compare yourself to others. One workout doesn’t define WHO YOU ARE, or what you’ve achieved. Although there are “freaks of nature” who rise up in the sport out of no where, most people have spent years mastering their craft. Years working on ironing out their weaknesses, allowing them to slowly crawl up the leaderboard. In my opinion, It is a right of passage. Seeing people succeed, and seeing what they are capable of, should fuel your fire EVEN MORE. It is proof that if you grit your teeth, work hard consistently, you’ll reap the rewards. Kudos to all you mighty fit kids out there. It has been an extremely inspiring, and humbling experience watching your performances over the last five weeks!REMEMBER-The leaderboard doesn’t define who you are!Allow other peoples success to demonstrate what is possible for you- rather than allowing it to consume your thoughts and make you feel inadequate.Rise up to the challenge and be a good role model.

My 20 year highschool reunion is this Saturday night and staying 50% humble yet still 50% vain, I wanted to make sure I look my best. - So spontaneously I completed a 4 month bulk then an aggressive 8 week cut. I’m pretty happy with my results but thought I would have gotten a little bit leaner, but sometimes it’s so much harder when u don’t do things by the book (my bulk should have been longer which in turn could have made my calories higher to start my bulk with) For those interested I ended my bulk on 2000 calories (last bulk I ended on 2500 😫) - I spent 4 weeks at 1500cal- 2 weeks at 1400cal- 1 week at 1300cal and this last week aka now 🤮 at 1200cal. Whilst adding little bit of cardio and upping my steps starting from 10,000 then 11,000 and this week is 12,000 per day - not much will change from now until Saturday but I managed a 3kg drop (6.6lbs). But measurements were more impressive then scale (as I always preach to my clients) Which gave me more defined legs, abs came back, some arm veins and a good case of hunger lol So I’ll look good for a night, pretend I’m not starving (as super lean isn’t fun) and then can’t wait to go back to eating all the foods and getting stronger again! @macrosinc#bodybuilding#cutting#highschoolreunion#diet#macrosinc#fitness#femalefitness#muscle#abs#hungry#deficitcalorico#lean
