🚑 “Doctor & Mom of 3 goes running out of the 🏨office?!”🏃🏼♀️
Dr. Courtney, aka MotherDoctorRunner, is the kind of woman you meet and immediately wonder what you’ve been doing with all of your time! Ha. She is a happy, and balanced little mama who flies under the radar, giving her best at work, at home and on the roads as an avid east coast half runner. .
. “I am a full time physician, specializing in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. I have 3 munchkins, ages 6, 4 and 2. I am thankful to work in an office with a neighborhoid behind it, and access to the hospital gym, which affords me the opportunity to run during my lunch breaks. Unfortunately that does mean I usually have to work in the evenings after the kids go to bed, but there's just something about running outside in the sunshine that I can't resist!” 💙 ((she’s so cute, right?!)) .
🏃🏼♀️The humble doctor refers to herself as a mid-pack racer. “My PR for a half marathon is 1:54 and my 5k PR is a hair under 24 minutes. I'm not doing a spring half this year. I felt stagnant in my running and all the frustration with the constant measuring of my speed robbed me some of the fun of running. So now I'm hitting the pavement without my Garmin but I've also been incorporating Pure Barre and strength training. Thank god for Youtube!!” 😂 ((keepin it real 💯))
✨ADVICE FOR WORKING PARENTS 💡!! . “I find having a good support network helpful. My husband and I both try our best to support each others' hobbies which makes it easier to not feel so guilty when we're out doing what we love. I am vey thankful also to have a good running group on Saturdays to meet up with.” 🙏🏼🙏🏼 .
. ✨SHOUTOUTS 📣 ((I absolutely agree w/her! ))👉🏽”Running every run alone is boring to me!! I find following the "early risers" on Instagram to be motivating! Now I don't feel so abnormal to wake up before 5 to get workouts in!” Her shout-out?! Of course, All hail the O.G. #WorkingMotherRunner BOSTON QUALIFIER, @JessBug1122 👊💯Dr. Courtney ((and all of us)) are inspired by her accomplishments!
HAVE YOU CHEERED ON ANOTHER PARENT TODAY?! 🏃🏻♀️🏃🏾🏃🏼♂️🏃🏽♀️.
😵 I travel a lot. And I constantly see people treating other people like garbage - especially in the hospitality industry - but of course we all see it pretty regularly in various places wherever we live. It drives me crazy. I understand, you’re having a bad day. But! That doesn’t give you the right to be a jerk or to be rude or to wipe dirt all over someone else’s experience. We’re all in this together! When we’re out and about in the world, let’s make a conscious effort to not only be kind, but to think about how we treat others, regardless of how shitty our day has been. It’s the least we can do. And while we’re at it, let’s not try to let our own negative feelings and experiences get us down to the point where we feel bad in the first place! Sure, we’re all gonna have bad days. But, our experience can be better with a little more healthy thoughtfulness about ourselves before we even get to the point of negative outward expressions. Or yeah. Whatever. 😂 Have a wonderful day! ⛔️
