2019, a year i’ll never forget. the two highlights of my year and since the last time i’ve posted is that I turned 18 or 81 lol and i got into my dream university @northeastern in Boston!
on a very real note, the past year was one of the most emotionally challenging years I’ve ever gone through. there were days when I felt too emotionally weak to get out of bed or to push through the day, i felt as if I had lost myself and I had no emotional control. i had experienced so much anxiety, i lost all my will to take care of my body, i gained weight, and I lost a lot of hope. with every downfall the year had brought me, i learned countless lessons. the first being that all you have to depend on is yourself, people can change, and home is a place inside your heart.
watching people’s perfect lives on social media is detrimental to mental health, people most of the time only post when they’re in a good mood and rarely share or express when times are rough hence why I barely post. i wanted to write and share this post as a reminder to myself and maybe to you that the life you see on social media isn’t always what’s actually happening in real life.
here’s to 2020, a year of new and healthier beginnings, a year of being more open and honesty, giving my all to everything I do, and not letting my anxiety control me. ☺️
Next week will be the third time in two countries in two years I've worked with my brother @jlawbball and I've got a feeling we will have many many more together in the future. 💪🏾 Upper body activation along with core strengthening and spinal stabilization •
🧠 Neuromuscular control - A large amount of mental concentration and body control is required for the body to move smoothly and not have one side lag behind •
⚖️ Uncover body imbalances - You will likely find that one side is tougher than the other, training this will help to eliminate it •
🥍 Carryover to sports - Asymmetrical loading and engagement is frequently occurring during in game situations so training it occasionally will help improve the body’s ability to cope with these situations •

Workout today.....Circuit Training (high intensity, low impact). 4 circuits, 3-4 rounds each (abs afterwards-not recorded) I'm so excited to be able to go deeper with my squats. I'm not able to go as deep as I used to, but lower than I was a few months ago.
