#ad Never want to lose the best things I have in my life! #takefive and let’s talk about protecting yourself and the ones you love from online fraudsters!
Whether it is through growing use of smartphones, social media, e-commerce or other means, we are all putting our personal information on internet more and more. We are living in a time of unprecedented connectivity, and it is easy to forget that there are dangers out there, on the internet, on social media, in the apps we use every day.
There are many scams out there and when any aspect of your digital security is relaxed, all of your personal information - your credit cards, bank accounts, email accounts, your whole identity could be at risk.
Did you ever receive emails pretending to be from legitimate sources, but they’re asking you to give away personal or private information? You should always do some checks in order to spot a fishing email: • check the grammar and spelling • be wary of links in the email
• do they push you to act quickly?
• they will threaten your account
Fraudsters will ask for personal details that the bank or other real companies will never ask for.
How to stay safe and secure online? @natwest is helping on fraud and security and they have some great tips on preventing pharming: • Never submit your data to a website which doesn’t present a padlock icon in the address bar – the padlock indicates that your data is encrypted and therefore can’t be intercepted when it travels between you and the website owner.
• Double check the URL website address in the address bar is definitely the right website.
• You need to carefully check the address for subtle misspellings, additional words and characters and other irregularities which might suggest it’s not authentic.

Kerewan it was a great experience. This is a school that we will definitely come back to in the near future. The misconception of the internet and misuse of certain apps is a huge problem. Most students are victims and the saddest part is they did some acts thinking it was right when they were causing more harm to themselves. Awareness is key, which is why we at SHOAW are ready to work with each school administrator to continue to dig up issues affecting students when it comes to cyber attacks help them to find ways to prevent such from reoccurring. Thank you Kerewan.
🔒Data security and privacy are urgent issues. Studies show that 65% of Internet users worry about how their personal data is used.⠀
InnerSpace takes data privacy seriously - we track movement, not individuals. Our platform is GDPR compliant and our sensors don't use video. Instead, our sensors look for WiFi, Bluetooth and UWB signals from smart devices to estimate how people travel through a space. We immediately anonymizes data through a process called "hashing" and further ensure privacy by aggregating data so that our data is only surfaced at a population level. ⠀
Click the link in our bio to learn more about how we lay our indoor location privacy cards on the table, so you don’t have to worry!
Who's gotten an alert their personal info has been found on the dark web?
And while we unfortunately can't prevent every single security breach out there, we can do our due diligence and be sure our passwords are legit.
Having "123456" or "FirstNameBirthday" ain't gonna cut it anymore.
One of the best tools I've found for keeping my passwords safe and organized is LastPass.
They have a browser extension AND an app, so you can access your passwords anywhere.
Even better? It's free!

(I have no affiliation; I just love using their service!)
