If you have been around for a while you probably know that I recently rebranded my business. This is something that happened very quickly and it’s honestly one of the best decisions I’ve made.
I see all the time the results my clients get after we finish working together in their brands, but this time I had the opportunity to experience first hand the power visual elements can have.
Changing my brand name, choosing different colors that aligned more with my vision, designing the right logo to represent my values and mission, completely changed my business.
It changed it not only because of how I feel when creating content and using my brand visuals, but it’s also helping me reach more clients and connect with them in a way I didn’t before.
So (and not only saying this because I’m a graphic designer, I promise) if you feel like it’s time to go after that new branding or even if it’s time to go through that rebranding yourself, don’t hesitate! It can make a huge difference for you!
"Should I use paid Facebook Ads??" 🤷♂️
There is lots of information out there at the moment preaching the power of paid advertising. Now don't get me wrong, paid advertising (especially facebook ads) is an amazing tool for reaching new and specific audiences. But there are some areas of marketing that you should focus on first ⬇️
1. Have you built a strong consistent brand through the content you have been putting out 📸
2. Have you produced great client testimonials for social proof 📣
3. Are you already getting consistent leads/inquiries for you services 🔎
Then paid Facebook Ads can be a highly effective way of scaling your business, but only once all of you marketing and systems are in place 📈
How you use paid ads can have a huge impact on their success aswell. Making sure the audiences are correctly targeted, the offer/service is enticing and that the landing page converts well 💰
If you would like help with any step of the process from creating the content to building an ad campaign drop me a DM and I'll send you some info 📩

You know how #TBT (throwback Thursday, or Tuesday, or whatever it is... I’m too old for this shit....) is a thing?
Can we make #FYF (Feel Yourself Friday) a thing please? Because MORE OF THIS has to be a good thing.
Photo by @camattreephoto from @bombshellburlesque ball of our video vixens class performing to “My, my, my” choreographed the amazing @ms.martini.mcfly - I’ll put the video in my story for anyone who wants to watch.
But back to my point - if you don’t know what feels good for you, how can you possibly expect anyone else to?! I feel like my mantra for 2020 may in fact be “pleasure is not a dirty word” and I’m going to shout it from the rooftops any chance I have. Take the time to learn what feels good for you - sexually, physically, mentally - no one else is going to do it for you.
Ok, that’s not true, you may find some delicious humans who will go on a journey of exploration and discovery with you.... but the responsibility lies with you! You inhabit this body, learn what feels good, and please, do more of that.
📸 A few quick tips for taking PHOTOS for your feed (save for later!):
👉🏻 Be resourceful and use what you have. You don’t need expensive equipment or professional software — a majority of my photos are taken on my iPhone in natural lighting or with my ring light — DM me if you want the link to the affordable one I use (it’s under $40 and comes with a tripod & a Bluetooth remote 🙌🏻)
👉🏻 Designate a day or two as “photo shoot days” so you can plan, batch and schedule your content like I teach in my Content Blueprint (link in bio).
When you have a sizable amount of images to choose from, you can easily batch your content in advance to save you a lot of time and headache!
👉🏻 Switch it up and include situational photos (action shots), photos of your employees/team members, flat lays, happy customers or clients and YOU! Play with angles and negative space to give your audience a variety.
👉🏻 Use @lightroom to edit your images and apply presets to give your images a cohesive look and feel. This is a MUST-HAVE tool!
👉🏻 Source *on-brand* stock images to use when you’re in a pinch, need variety or want to bring a more cohesive look to your feed. I’ve mentioned these sources before but these are my go-to stock photo sites:
👉🏻 Don’t be afraid to repurpose images (this one is from awhile back — no shame!). If you haven’t taken new photos in awhile, go back through your camera roll and see what you can reuse! Such a life saver sometimes 😅
What types of images do best with your audience? What do you struggle with when it comes to taking photos for your feed? Let me know! 👇🏻

Today I'm sharing with you one of my favourite little shops in Olinda (which I don't visit enough, but love stalking their Insta feed) 😘
I'm a little bit obsessed with indoor plants 🌿 so it's no surprise I love @littlelandsmelbourne - the most beautiful selection of indoor plants, pots & terrariums! Check them out 👌
What Are Your Mad Skills?
I bet you have skills that you have picked up along the way that you didn't think would be useful but you use them now... Me: I learned to code at college, hated it, never thought (or wanted) to use it again.
Then I got into blogging and actually, the coding came in quite handy. I still use it now, not so much these days because websites are so much more user friendly but it's a handy thing to have in my toolkit.
Over to you... #productivityhabits

I feel like often times people don’t give themselves enough credit. You are where you are today, because of YOU. Your actions, your goals, your vision. Sure, we all get help along the way, but nothing would have happened without YOU! We need to start celebrating ourselves more!
This is the calm before the storm. The look of peace and tranquility while installs are going up and vendors are loading in and everything seems perfectly on time before that last hour before ceremony that zooms by at a breakneck pace.⠀
It’s one of favorite moments of the day to see the culmination of months of dreaming and scheming finally becoming a tangible creation, a magical guest experience and a fabulous event for the couple and their loved ones. ⠀
What is the favorite part of what you do? What drives you and makes you excited to jump out of bed in the morning?⠀
Hey.. Friday, is that you hiding there? 🙋♀️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Do you give yourself a day or two off at the weekend?
Social media is a busy place during Saturday and Sunday so it is tempting to be on your phone if you have a small business.
Did you know that social media scheduling tools now allow you to not only schedule posts but some also offer story functionality too!
We batch schedule content 1 week to 4 weeks in advance, at least in draft form but even if you use a scheduling tool at the weekends, imagine how freeing that could be!
We use @latermedia as an agency but they have a great free version for managing just a few accounts!
If you use a scheduling tool, which one is your favourite?

I’m sure you have noticed that all the big time influencers are using their platforms to tell a story that feels like they are speaking directly to you. Something about the way they are speaking feels so personal, intimate and relatable that you can’t help but want more. You watch their stories, read every post and even venture over to their website every now and again. And when they have something to sell, you are at least thinking about buying it.⠀
And you can’t help but think… how do they DO that?⠀
Well, I’ve got good news and bad news. ⠀
The bad news is that you’ve been duped. The truth is that even though their captions feel so natural and just flow, they are actually structured specifically to evoke engagement, conversion and sales. Ugh. You’ve just been sold to.⠀
But the good news is that you can recreate that to generate more sales, conversion and engagement for your own small business. Yay! ⠀
So how do we do it? Click the link in my bio to download my guide for my step-by-step process to build captions that capture the attention of your audience, tell a story that evokes an actual emotional response and get them to convert to paying customers.⠀

Anyone here like to do their own makeup?
I have done makeup for years as a cosmetologist. I have always LOVED putting makeup on others. It was satisfying for me to enhance my clients’ natural beauty. It was an art to me, and the reward was the smile I saw on the face of that client at the end of our session.
However, I don’t always enjoy doing my own makeup. It’s a boring and mundane task! That’s why a few years ago, I decided to ditch a part of my mindset that told me I couldn’t walk out of the house without my full face of makeup on. I decided it would be ok to go to Walmart or Kroger, all-natural. What freedom!!!
I’m not saying you’re gonna see me out makeup-free a lot, but I will say it was nice to learn that natural beauty can speak for itself! Anyone else ready to step away from the makeup brushes for a day or two?

A message to anyone Self Employed....
Where if your sick, you cant work and therefore won’t get paid! You need a 2nd income stream if you want to keep the good vibes going in your business!
I have an online biz with Arbonne and I am also a tattoo artist. 14 months ago I was burnt out and needing a rest period in December but my bank account said differently. Tattooing was my only income....then I crushed my drawing thumb in a car door and had to take 3 weeks before I could use it! 🙈🙈🙈
I went into meltdown!! I hadn’t planned for this, I was not prepared.
Intense focus on your craft...I get it! But being stressed takes you all out of creative alignment. Having a second income stream from doing something I was already doing....like washing my hair, putting on makeup and drinking protein shakes...was the smartest 2019 DECISION I ever made!
If you are self employed....a creative....drop me a DM and hear me out! I want to help keep the good vibes going for you 😘😘😘
The concept that HR is just policies, hiring and firing is a very 90’s business model. As more and more corporations have HR sitting at an executive level, contributing to strategy discussions and being viewed as an integral cog in the leadership machine, the expectations on HR’s contribution to the business have increased exponentially.
There is now an expectation that HR policies and initiatives will be well considered, best practice models to guide, develop, motivate and reward employees. Policies built around, and for the sole purpose of legislation will always be a constant. But a great HR professional should be able to dissect your Strategic & Operational Plans and Core Values to build HR initiatives that make your workplace somewhere employees enjoy coming to everyday; to encourage performance and behaviours that build a team that takes ownership and accountability of their actions; that builds a workplace where everyone is heading in the same direction. In short, they help build the workforce demographic that you NEED to achieve your business goals.
A lot of business owners I speak to say they are too small to implement a lot of these types of practices, but in reality, the ethos applies across the board – big or small, it just gets massaged and moulded until it suits your business. A successful business is a successful business, whether it has 10 employees or 1000 employees, if you want to have a successful business you need to think strategically, plan & implement.

“How the heck do you make a living as a blogger?”- is the #1 question I get asked.
I’ll be honest with you, it’s not easy but its 100% doable.
There are 5 ways you can make $1000/mo (or even $100K/mo) online:
Swipe right ➡️ to see an estimate of what you need to make each method work.
You can start with one and add or delete what doesn’t work for you.
I started out with monetizing my website with ads + affiliates, tried services and sponsorships, realised they were the least scalable and picked what made most sense for my niche.
Once you get the foundation + systems in place, it all comes down to math!
Once you get to the first $1000/mo, you work to scale it up. Like I said, tough but doable.
And if some one like me with zero background in digital marketing can do it, so you can you, buttercup.

Are you okay with slow and steady growth? 🐌 Or are you racing against yourself? 🚀 ⠀⠀
Whenever mercury goes into retrograde I use it as a time to slow down, go inward, and self reflect.
It also happens to be traveling through my rising sign— Pisces, so I am particularly sensitive to the energy of this transit which ends on March 9th.
Through this inward reflection I’ve realized a harsh truth about myself— I’m in a rush. ⏱
Now that my vision is crystal clear, I’m eager to see it become reality.
I want hundreds upon hundreds of members inside of the @creative.abundance.tribe. 💎
I want to see my original apparel gracing the closets of all my favorite creatives.
I want my digital products to take off and begin generating passive revenue. 💸
I want it all. And I want it now. (Don’t we all?!)
And yet— I’m building my business part time while I work fulltime. I’m honoring rest rather than pushing myself when I’m tired. 😴
I’m embracing my Human Design (I’m a Manifestor) and investing my money in outsourcing so that I can take care of my own energetic output. 🔋
So on one hand I feel myself rushing and on another— I’m choosing to move slowly. 🐌 🚀 ⠀⠀
During this retrograde, I intend to release the part of me that’s in the rush. 👋🏾
I love her, I see her, I nurture her, and I release her. ✨
I’ve decided to do this life as 𝓼𝓵𝓸𝔀𝓵𝔂 as I wish.
I’ve accepted that there’s absolutely no rush because the lessons I will learn over time will make me a more powerful educator for the multi-passionate creatives I serve. 💡
So, if you read this far (you’re amazing) tell me:
Are you okay with slow and steady growth? Or are you racing against yourself. 🐌 or 🚀?
Be honest and let’s connect in the comments.
All my love to you. ♥️

In order to build a healthy, engaged following on Instagram you need to get interacting. But that can feel a bit awkward and intimidating to begin with. Here’s some easy ways to get started.
1) when people you are following run quizzes or polls or ask questions, get involved
2) when you see a conversation happening on a post - join in and express an opinion
3) shout out other people’s posts. If you LOVE someone’s post tap the paper airplane icon underneath to share it on stories. Remember to tag them in and say why you love it.
4) leave genuine and thoughtful comments when you’ve enjoyed someone’s caption or a photo. You can leave short comments but make sure it’s more substantial than ‘awesome photo’
5) send emojis or direct messages if you’ve found a story interesting - it’s a great way to start a dm chat
6) ask your audience questions! Start conversations. I often do this if I need a solution to a problem. Eg the other day I asked my audience where to buy eco mascara - I got loads of tips.
If you have any other thoughts on how to interact in an easy way on insta do comment below. .
And if you want to learn more about using Instagram for your business, I’ve got a workshop on weds 4 March (link in bio). I also offer 1:1 training and Instagram MOTs - find out more at easyinstamcr.com

This is such an important question to ask ourselves at every stage of a project.
And it's something that guides what I write, but also how I work with my clients.
If part of my process or one of the outcomes isn’t valuable, why am I investing in it?
If I’m not adding value to their business, then how can I ask them to pay me?
When it comes to promoting and pitching our work to potential buyers/collectors as well as galleries and festivals, it’s important to think about whether your work will also add value to *them*.
It's hard – esp because the value of art, unlike a lot of other products/services is subjective [and sometimes deeply personal].
How do you do this?
The trick is to share what you’re trying to achieve + what impact you’re wanting to have + why it's important to them.
✌🏽 Bonus points for being relatable.
When you’re asking what value you bring to something, write down how it helps them – then add “which means that…”
i.e. My work [does this thing…] by [tell them how], which means that [people will learn/ask/review/feel something]...
...which means that it will help you [drive change/raise awareness, etc] and aligns with your [intention/values/ message] of [your event/space].
Connecting through common values is so powerful.
All of a sudden you find a place of mutual understanding and people feel like they belong with you.
And that's what we all want right?

Let's talk makeup! 💄 Which one are you:
A. Makeup everyday - I feel naked without it! 🙅🏽
B. Ehhh. Ill probably put it on if I go out 🤷🏻
C. All natural all the way! 💁🏼 .
I'm a B..... I weigh my % chance I'll see someone I know and if is a low %... I'll probably skip the makeup 😂

Here’s the thing about running your own business (at least one like mine)... You get to work from home most of the time. I often work in this exact chair, minus the spectacular sparkly heels, and well, most of the clothing.
You get to work with amazing humans. Do cool shit. Bend your schedule to cope with all the parenting, the social things, and the “I’m just not getting out of bed today” days.
There are some serious perks.
But it also comes with an almost constant feeling of not quite being able to breathe. Of feeling like you’re one fuck up away from a complete shit show most of the time. Knowing that you can’t predict what will work and what won’t. Even if it worked spectacularly well last time you did it. Feeling like it could all fall apart at any moment - because of something you did, or maybe not, maybe just because that happens sometimes.
I’ve been doing this online business thing for a while now, and that sense of potential doom hasn’t gone away. Despite the fact that, so far, things haven’t ever really gone to shit.... and even when they’ve gotten pretty damn close, I’ve somehow pulled through. So I know that if it does all fall apart - it will all be ok.
Still. The feels are real. And fucking intense some days. And I think we need to talk about it more. Because there are a bunch of people out there selling “do these five things and business will be amazing” type rubbish. And buying into that is a recipe for disaster. It’s just not true.
Running your own business is great. And shit. And exciting. And terrifying. All. At. Once. And if you’re out there doing it, I see you. And thus ends my Monday sermon 😄 (📷 by my fave @tessdoes_ )

On a serious note I want to give a big shout out to the ladies who put on @galentines. It’s truly inspiring to see women come together to celebrate one another.
Social media has a tendency to be a negative space for people with comparison, vanity metrics and in some instances bullying.
Positivity is a choice that we all can make and I’m holding myself accountable to be just that!
I am amazing
I can do anything
I choose to be positive
I know my worth
I will succeed
So happy love day to everyone! Go make someone’s day a little extra special with a hug or maybe a little tooshy grab 💜💜
