The church is designed to impact the world and equip its members to fulfill the Great Commission. And that happens by making disciples, intentionally helping people to step into the roles God has for them.

The only problem with that is the glaring truth that some do not really understand the true gospel.
Our house isn't the only renovation project we're going to be invested in over the coming months. Our church has just completed on the purchase of our local town hall and we got inside for a look around this afternoon. Yes that is an air raid siren on the roof, and yes they are flag poles out the front! It's huge! Rooms upon rooms upon rooms, these don't show the half of it. Very exciting times ahead!

This morning @_AmyKey spoke on the Theology of Church Planting! We’re so excited to be planting 2 new churches over the next 2 years. What part is God calling you to play? #Pray#Give#Encourage#Go #ChurchPlanting
We had guests come to our church today because they found these invites around town. These still work!
A majority of our guests do still come through website/social media, but it says something when the community starts recognizing that Liberty Baptist Church logo. They had to come and see what was happening.
18 in services this morning. What a wonderful morning in church! #GodisGood! #Sunday#churchreplant#churchplanting

"When we define success wrongly, we focus on numbers. Then our discipleship resembles more of a conveyer belt in a manufacturing plant than what Jesus modeled. We like standardization and scalability. Jesus preferred customization and small." via @PeteScazerropic.twitter.com/IyCN24fIwi

Passion for Compassion!
“Many people are driven by the likes, followers, comments, and popularity they gain on social media. They’re pleased to know that their “friends” can see the good things they do and provide instant kudos or virtual fist bumps. It’s nice to get that kind of affirmation. However, for Christians, compassionate actions should never be motivated by pats on the back—in real life or in the virtual world. Service should occur naturally in the life of a believer, even if no one records the act or uploads it to Instagram or Facebook. Our giving and serving shouldn’t be laced with expectations of how we will benefit. It’s all about being the hands and feet of Jesus in this world.” “"When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.' Then the righteous will answer him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?' And the King will answer them, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.' "Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels... #bibleverse#biblestudy#bible#gospelofmatthew#gospel#thegospel#scripture#scriptures#scripturestudy#compassion#serveothers#churchplant#churchplanting#connectgrowserve#churchplanter#churchplantingteam#christfollower#christfollowers#christfollowerlife#lovegod

How can your church leave a legacy of faith for generations to come? How can every church play a major part in God’s work in the world and through his church? This morning we sang, participated in the Lord’s Supper & giving, and continued our series in the Gospel of Mark (looking at chapter 8 and 9). Here, we saw the words and nature of Jesus revealing that the true Christian life is marked by "dying to ourselves" as we follow Jesus, worshipping and resting in Him alone for our salvation. For King’s Church: He is our suffering King whom we follow, our glorious King whom we worship, and gracious King whom we trust. In addition we heard from Tim M. about our Washington English Center partnership and opportunity to mentor and care for non-native English speakers through volunteer mentoring. Finally, some of our ladies met this week for our monthly ladies brunch. We are so excited to be a church filled with God’s love, hospitality, and mercy. We’re so thankful to have so many people who sacrifice money, time, and ego for the glory of God in DC. #churchplanting#washingtondc

Wow...what a day! We love you eXchange family. Thank you for making our church what it is! Year 2...here we come!!! #xmarksthespot
When we first arrived in Raleigh, Judah made a best friend straight away. Elam is funny and kind and doesn't mind having a friend who is so often a dinosaur, so he has been just what Jude needed as we settled in.
Last Friday Elam got up to tell the class that his family were moving away, and that it would be his last day. It came as a bit of a shock and we definitely needed a chat over a giant cookie to make it through, but I am amazed by this boy who does not love change, but has navigated new things, new places, new people, hellos and goodbyes and unexpected news like a champ. So proud of my Jude!
And shout-out to all the parents out there who wish you could make everything smooth sailing for your kids; I'm with you, but I'm realising that half of parenting is teaching your kids to trust God, and the other half is reminding yourself to trust God with your kids. His plans are so good, even on the giant-cookie days. Those babies are growing, their faith is stretching, and their life is getting planted on the Rock that never changes. 🍪

SPRING DROP TODAY! GET YOURS!

We’re stepping into a season that will begin the craziness of the rest of our lives. We’ve lived here for 7 months. And in those 7 months, our team has tripled in growth, we’ve started making a difference in our city, we’ve built amazing friendships and partnerships, we haven’t launched yet, but people know @hopevalleyco’s name and what we stand for and want to be a part, but the most special part about all this is that I’m living my dream of actually doing ministry and working alongside this guy. Nothing feels better than getting to witness something that was spoken over us 9 years ago begin to come alive. I love us. I love our story. The good parts, the bad parts, the ugly parts, and the incredibly beautiful parts. We’ve overcome everything the enemy has thrown our way by the grace and goodness of Jesus and I believe in my heart that us as a couple and Hope Valley Church are forces to be reckoned with. Look out Arizona. God’s got some BIG things planned.
So thankful for good friends and for all the opportunities God gives me. #churchplanting#acts29#preaching @ Reconcile Community Church https://www.instagram.com/p/B8pYCxBF-Il/?igshid=15hytr1rwlk8q …

One last read through and it goes to printer. Decided to get sappy and visit a place very important to myself and our church community. @cannoncoffeeco was started by @cannonanne who moved with her family from Toronto to Hamilton to help start a new church community.
The desire to start a church began with seeing a need. Our city needed a locally rooted church that made space for those on the edge of faith, the ones who walked away and those who never joined in the first place. Anne noticed a similar need in the neighbourhood: An overlooked place, with people who needed a space for organic connection. She threw herself into starting a truly local cafe.
Our congregation became the early cheerleaders of the Cannon. We were here scrapping floors and painting walls, the first to visit in the morning and last to close the place out.
Churches and cafes occupy a similar space in my mind. There are lots of parallels. I’m struck by the fact that some churches operate like Starbucks, with fancy franchises in developed areas. Others are Timmies, stable and predictable, or “cool cafes” with immaculate branding. But Eucharist? We are scrappy, community owned, and full of good vibes. We are “the Cannon,” and always have been. Couldn’t pick a better spot for one last read through of our church plant story.

Scripture: • 1 John 2:3-6: We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands. Whoever
says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that
person. But if anyone obeys his word, love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how
we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did. - NIV
Icebreaker: • What rules do you most struggle with obeying?
1. Jason said to know Christ is to love Christ and to love Christ is to obey Christ.
a. Name a person in your past you loved and obeyed. How did this person impact you?
2. Jason said out walk must match out talk.
a. Share a time when you had to “walk the talk”. 3. Jason referred to the “Great Command” which is to love God and to love others. This word love
is the Greek word Agape which means “unconditional love”. a. What is unconditional love?
4. What “unconditional love” did Jesus show to us?
Challenge: • This week research the word “Agape” and study it’s meaning and think about how to obey the “Great Command”. • Keep a journal of how you are obeying Jesus Christ. Also, keep a list of how you are falling short.
Other Passages: • Matthew 22:36-40
One last preview service in Granada Hills this weekend! A brand new church launches Feb. 16th on this campus, which is also our 4th birthday as a church! .
As I was driving back from a board meeting in Fresno tonight, I spent most of my time listening to worship music and just overwhelmed at the goodness of God. The last five years have just been more than I can put into words. There have been so many highs and lows. He has been so good TO us. But....He’s also good FOR us!! Of all that I’ve learned in this journey, it’s the dependence on Jesus that resonates in my soul. Thank you, Jesus! You’re good TO us and FOR us.
GOOD MORNING— Our team is ready for you and your crew! We can’t wait to see what God will do for our Friends & Family Day! ➕ We’ve got giveaways and delicious soup waiting! 🤗 #welcomehome
