hong kong yesterday. what are we doing as anarchists to critique these pro-democracy movements that are waging asymmetrical war with the State? the most common and visible critique of the HK movement seems to come from Communists who view the movement as reactionary, and while not always defending the police often do so by characterizing the movement as a homogenous one. it is clear that there are anti-authoritarian tendencies within the movement. however this entire time it does feel like these voices are missing completely, drowned out by the violent antagonism between capitalist liberalism and the CCP.
we should try to redirect the narrative for each other’s own sake to those who find themselves in these three way fights currently, and act swiftly and relentlessly to assert our condemnation of both sides, and simultaneously come to the defense of anarchist direct action happening in these social war zones .
if you know of any anarchists in Hk or anywhere in the global uprising who would like to answer some basic questions in anyway, hit this account up.
